"I’ve lived here for 5 years. I love it! My neighbor is amazing and I have had really no issues… there a bit of traffic in the alley way and some sketchy people that walk back there but over all it’s a great place to live!"

"Oleander is one of bakersfield oldest neighborhoods...it may have a few areas that need to be improved due to the increase in the homeless population, but they even choose the area because of how quiet it is"

"unique houses that are built to last forever. very neighborly people who are concerned about what is going on in the neighborhood"
  • Trulia User
"Lots of off leash dogs. I carry dog pepper spray as a deterrent just in case one is overly aggressive. Neighbors pit gets out and roams regularly. "
  • Trulia User
"not big yards for big dogs at most houses. some places are apartments/duplexes with small yards and the parks are not that dog friendly. "
  • Trulia User
"everyone in the neighborhood keeps their yards so well kept. very hospital neighbors. neighborhood watch and everyone looking out for the good of one another"
  • Mary A.
"Easy freeway access no matter which way you need to go. North and south on the 99 or East/ West on the 58. "
  • Cheryl N. H.
"Overrun by the homeless, theft, property destruction and homeless animals. Most neighbors keep to themselves have their windows, blinds, shutters closed and locked. Constant fire and police sirens along with fireworks and gunshots throughout the night. Most people try to take pride in their home and property but many are just renters and could care less about the property."
  • Hermie G.
