I am a student of this school. I am in 6th grade, actually, and I am about to finish up my first year in this school. I disagree with anyone who has said that the education that we recieve is anything but sufficient. To say that our education is inadequate would be utterly false. The fact of teachers and being treated as if we were in the military instead of students is somewhat untrue. Many teachers push students a little more than others because of the fact that the students are not reaching their full potential. I am in gifted classes for not only Language Arts and writing but also Mathematics. The disciplinary issue is one that many may seem overexaggerated, which in my opinion it is. If you were sent to the office for anything, you would have been written up and received either ISS or After-School Detention with our old principal. Overall, this school is my choice of schools for the remainder of my middle and high school education. The day I leave this school for good will definitely be the day I walk across the football field to receive my diploma.

We moved just to be a part of this school district, because it is superior to the Surrounding counties. No system is perfect, but effort and willingness to improve and do the best thing for the students goes a long way.

I graduated from this school system many years ago. While attending the University, I found that ICHS gave me a great foundation. I returned to my home county and wanted my children to grow up in this school system. The special education department is second to none and all teachers are responsive to questions and concerns. I have two kids in college and one soon to graduate. Each have received a firm, sound education in a safe environment. Racism? Only if you instigate it yourself. We have a minority principle, a minority BOE chair and an assistant superintendent who is a minority: Each treat all students the same.
