About this House
Fully Furnished. $3000/mo. 3-mo terms with the option of month-to-month after that. We would like to stay in the house for at least one month during each summer, but we are flexible about which month.
The house was built in 1906 and has been lovingly maintained by our family for 50 years.
There are three bedrooms, two of which have queen-sized beds set up. The guest bedroom has been used as an office and has a queen-sized guest bed available. If you would like us to set up a third bed, we can do that. One freshly-renovated bathroom with a new shower enclosure and vanity. Huge, connected living and dining rooms. Big fully-equipped kitchen with a new stove/oven. Mud room with working washer and dryer in the back of the house. Original hardwood floors, doorways, and molding in most of the house. Glorious bay windows in the living and dining rooms.
We also have a quaint, SUPER rustic basement for you to hang out in . Bonus: I am a librarian and will stock it with books for you! :)
We also have a huge outside lot, with apple and plum trees, as well as several raised beds that you can choose to garden in if you feel like it. There are lots of outdoor lounge-zones and old handmade Catholic shrines that are shaded and great for hammocks and rocking chairs in the summertime.
The house is up two flights of stairs from the street, and there is a 15-foot rockery at the street level. This is great because it is in a convenient location--the house is perched about the Metro Route #20 bus stop and is about a mile from the Northgate light rail station--but still feels quiet and private, because it's above the traffic.
Between June and December of 2022, we...
-updated the electrical system
-painted the outside of the house
-built new staircases coming up from the street
-stripped wallpaper and painted the kitchen and a bedroom
-completely rebuilt the bathroom with a new shower, fan, vanity and tile floor
-put in a new stove/oven
-cleaned the roof
-exterminated all rodents
-re-routed rainspouts
-had the furnace inspected
-had the whole property inspected for safety
-bought two new beds and mattresses
-installed an air conditioner in the living room and brought in a portable A/C for the second bedroom
The property will be managed by our friend Tracey, who built the bathroom and lives a mile away. (We live in Tacoma.)
$150 pet deposit in addition to the other fees listed.
Property is available for viewing on Sundays, Mondays, and Tuesdays, and then by appointment.
$3000/mo. 3-mo terms with the option of month-to-month after that. Fully Furnished. Wifi and utilities included in the rent.
Cleaning fee $125
Application fee $300
Pet fee $150/month
You will be responsible for cleaning and bringing recycling, trash, and yard waste out to the street for pickup (on Thursdays). You can garden in the raised beds if you want.
