New construction completed May 2024, ground floor, earth-sheltered, open format dwelling with a bank of eastern-facing windows and sliding glass door looking out into nature. Dwelling is wrapped in concrete walls and floor, built into the hillside, with radiant floor heating. Fully furnished with plenty of storage in kitchen and bedroom. North facing bedroom for dark nights in a firm, king size bed. It's a contemplative's dream space, and the feedback is consistent that the place feels grounding and peaceful, with good energy. Ideal for writers, artists, hard workers wanting a sanctuary, those working from home, and the like. Good internet. Great space for video cast and zoom consulting. Focus on what is needed, but not over-the-top with appliances. Gas stove, dishwasher, refrigerator, laundry table with W/D, extra deep and long bathtub, blender, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, utensils..) Custom designed and built furniture (couch turns into XL Twin bed), with depth for sitting cross-legged in meditation. Space for movement or easels, with rolling dining table and kitchen island table. Bluetooth speaker, and TV upon request. Ample ceiling lighting with lamps for ambience and softer illumination. Building is a house, a duplex, with an upstairs unit that enters on the rear side of the house, on grade at the top of the hill that the bottom unit is built into, thus there is zero interaction, with separate driveways, and neither tenant sees the other. The property is shared with me. I live in the converted quonset hut, with no windows on the side that is visible from your unit. This was all done intentionally, by design, to provide everyone with privacy in an efficient way. Driveway is shared with quonset hut, with two dedicated parking spaces beside your unit. Downtown Asheville is 17-20 minutes over country 2 lane highways and then Riverside Dr. or Patton Ave., with two options for travel through a commercial district or along the river where a new surf wave park is being built. My favorite coffee shop, High Five Coffee, is on the river by this park in development. Proximity to a gas station is 1.6 mi., 4 miles to Ingles (full supermarket) and restaurants, drug stores, etc. Easy deliveries with food, groceries, and purchases. Discount plus utilities ($100-150) max available for stays 6 months and more.

Utility costs are pretty low. Propane for cooking and heating. Electricity and internet shared with upstairs. Total monthly utilities ranges $100-150. Well water, tested and yummy, included. Garbage pickup service included.
Pets are allowed upon approval. Loud, barking dogs cannot be accommodated, unfortunately. Be advised, there is no fence at this time. No pet deposit required but for the one month rent security deposit.
