10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI graduated in 2004 and my comments may not fully reflect the current institution. Overall I was prepared well for college and found that my senior year here was more challenging than some of my college years. The facilities were excellent, clean, and it was a safe environment, though socially cliquish. The two things I would have liked at the time were to see a wider selection of courses and more diversity. For courses, the general sense of students was that AP courses would improve your college prospects while lower level courses, and especially electives, were not challenging. As such, there was a pressure to go for the AP courses, which were of a limited selection and only covered a narrow range of interests. The lack of diversity reflected the town's population, but I feel the school could have done more.Other Review10y ago10 Reviews - South Elementary School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school impresses me on a daily basis. The principal of the school is amazing and incredible involved in the day to day. The professional staff is top notch and foster an environment where ALL kids - no matter their limitations - feel a sense of belonging. The school teaches independence and confidence in the children and reinforces the importance of kindness and community. The PTO is incredibly involved and offer lots of opportunity for involvement. The social events are fun and always create lots of buzz.Parent Review11y ago5 Reviews - Hingham Middle School

"It is a dog neighborhood! Every other house owns a dog. Kids love them. They all go to the bus stop Perfect 4-cul de sac enclave for walking, jogging, getting 10,000 steps in and walking the dog "

"One of the best in the country because it offers 32 ferries per day into downtown Boston! It’s sort of a secret. But one of the best commutes. Coffee and bagels on the way into work. And a wet bar on the ferry ride home. Life is good "

"I’ve lived here for nearly 14 years and it is a nice neighborhood. It’s quiet and a safe place to take walks or run. It’s centrally located to Boston and surrounding areas in addition to Plymouth which is a straight shot down route 3. Plenty of shops and grocery stores within a few miles but definitely easier to have a vehicle vs rely on public transportation. "

"It’s far enough away but close enough that it’s not an inconvenient drive. I am able to avoid highways as well. Close to Boston without dealing with the congestion of city traffic. "

"the main road, rte 3A, into Hingham is very busy in mornings and at rush hour. The road is a 45 mph and on average, people speed 50-55mph, not a safe road to walk or bike, but most of Hingham is walk/bike friendly"

"About a 5 minute drive to Hingham Center, 3-5 minute drive to Stop and Shop, CVS, Trader Joe’s and 4-5 restaurants! On a good traffic day you can be in Boston in 20-25 minutes. It’s also a 2-3 minute drive to the Hingham water taxi and commuter rail. It’s the perfect location!"
