10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageTo a parent, Temple City High school is a really good school. Its academics are good, its graduation rate is high, and there are many clubs and extracurricularsthat are available to your student. However to a student, it’s torture. The toxic school culture that has cultivated here makes a student depressed. The teachers will “hammer down the nail that sticks out”. Even the students will isolate you if you are any bit different to them, and the students might be the worst part of this school. They cheat on tests, and if you’re honest about taking tests they make fun of you for your slightly lower grade. It’s honestly torture for some students, such as myself. Even the administrators don’t care about your mental wellbeing, they just want the schools image to be good, as such it is. Even the teachers, some care about your health, some don’t. Some teachers are so harsh and rude (mostly the young teachers), and it’s very hurtful to a child going through all the stress they have to with their work. I can with confidence say that as a student here, I am extremely unhappy. However if you don’t care about mental or physical wellbeing, I can recommend this school for you or your child. If you do care, please do not attend this school. It is extremely toxic.Student Review9mo ago9 Reviews - Check out schools near 8949 Emperor Ave #E.

"It’s distance and traffic. It takes a bit to get to a freeway. I work in OC, so traffic and distance is something I deal with daily."

"This neighborhood is okay. I’ve lived in better. This isn’t the place to grow a family. You don’t see much of kids. No holiday spirit. "

"So many Chinese restaurants and they are the best you can get in America. Not a boring city if you live near Hawaii Supermarkets. You will mainly see Asian people. "

"It’s an okay area. Not the best but it will do for now. Not much of a diversity of people here but I do not plan staying here forever. And the houses are about to break down. They’re like Shacks "

"I had my package stolen and it’s partially gated community. Community can be decent but right outside of this community can be quite sketchy. When I used to live in pasadena, I was always jogging at night, but now living here, I don’t feel safe to jog at night "

"I work from home but frequent Downtown LA, Pasadena, Glendale, Burbank, Hollywood frequently. Can usually get to where I need to be in about 45 minutes even in heavy traffic. Considering some of these places are 30 miles away, it’s not that bad."
