Description

The E.A. Scribner House, a Colonial built in 1810, combines the best of both worlds: Old World craftsmanship and charm with numerous, modern-day improvements. The original structure was a center-chimney Cape with clapboard facade and interior features that include two fireplaces/woodstove, Indian shutters, gunstock corners, and antique pine flooring. The "new" four-room brick addition was constructed around 1839 and features a formal living room with marble fireplace, dining room, master bedroom with fireplace, and guest bedroom -- all with antique pine flooring. Two additional outbuildings include a cottage containing approximately 400 SF and a four-bay garage. The property is five acres in size, and located on one of the most scenic roads -- Fremont-Scribner Road, named for the first family known to have owned the house. There are far too many improvements to list here, but know that this property has been historically preserved for modern-day living.

"It’s a nice, little town. I have lived here my whole life. Very nice neighbors, it’s been a blessing being here. "
  • Antje603
"The library, the school, parks and rec., the Fremont Athletic Association has regular events for everyone in the community. A little something for everyone."
  • Hallie Ouellette
"The town wide yard sale, events at Austin 17 House, events at the Brentwood Recreation Center, events at the Fremont Public Library, and more are what make the neighborhood special."
  • Denise B. G.
"Fremont is small and quiet. There are many senior communities, but other than the school and ballpark and rail trails, there are not many areas for children. We are close to swimming at Pawtuckaway park and 49 minutes fo the ocean."
  • Denise B. G.
"There are only 4000 people in the town. There is access to the windham/derry rail trail . Is a nice place to hike, ride horses, or bike. And Epping is only 2 exits east on rt101. This brings shopping and restaurants very close. fremont is 20 minutes from Manchester, 20 minutes from Derry and 35 minutes from the ocean. It is a nice, safe town to bring up a family. The experiences i have had with police and fire is positive. The town has an elementary school, but uses Raymond’s high school. Convenient MD is available and we are 20 minutes to Manchester Hospitals. "
  • Chris
"I like living here for the quiet neighborhood and great neighbors. There is plenty to do around here, you just have to be willing to drive a little further to get to anything. Overall, very pleased with my decision to move here. "
  • Mary J. F. w.
"Friendly, clean and very safe for all. A great place to raise a family. Kids playing and people walking dogs down the street. It’s how life should be. "
