8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageJennifer Darragh was my child's teacher. She messaged me on DOJO because my kid wasn't following what she was teaching. She asked if my child had a head injury or ADHD. Imagine saying that to a parent of your student. He had neither. He needed glasses and had expressed he couldn't see the board. She accused him in front of his classmates of drinking all the water because he asked for a bottle and she forgot to give it to him so he waited 3 hours and worked up the courage to ask a 2nd time. I sent his own case of waters so not to further agitate his adult teacher. She told him he couldn't sharpen his pencil and when he was shoved 3 days in a row during reading group, she would not move him to another group despite bullying. The school refused to move his class, so we pulled him out of school as my child was being bullied by his own teacher and I needed to know he was OK and considered for 6 hours a day. That same child is now in GCA, 4H, Junior Civitans, plays sports, and maintains straight As. I will never forget this experience because Jennifer Darragh leaves a stark contrast between herself and every other educator that my child has ever had. If your kid gets Jennifer Darragh- RUN!!!!!!!!!! She is not only a bad educator, she is incredibly cruel. Look into her history.Parent Review2mo ago3 Reviews - Eastern Alamance High

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI had three children who attended this school. They were all excellently prepared to attend college. One of my children thinks that some of the teachers at Eastern are much better teachers than those she has encountered in college. That child also thinks several of her high school classes were more challenging than the classes she took her first and second years in college. I came on to this site because I was reading elsewhere about a student in another school who had several things stolen from him during one school year. I think maybe one of my kids had one thing stolen at this school, and I'm unsure about that. Anyway, this was a nonissue for us. We felt like the students generally respect and leave each other alone. There are many honors and AP classes to take, and one of my children was able to get more than a year's worth of college credit through the AP courses she took. Yes, I wish there were smaller classes, more resources, and more teachers like the great teachers who are there, but nothing is perfect. I would say they should increase the number of counselors. The counselors are each responsible for too many people. Their workload is above the state average.Parent Review7y ago14 Reviews - Woodlawn Middle

"The fair oaks neighborhood provides parents with the comfort of knowing their kids can play safely and have many interactions with kids their own age. The elementary school is within walking distance, along with sport fields and other areas of learning. Downtown is just a short walk and provides a nice family afternoon stroll "
