The school itself is fine, it’s just the students that make my school year unbearable. Teachers are helpful and are able to make the students day better. The teachers I have are very supportive and don’t mind late work. They push me to do my best, while being understanding in the process. The school lunch is great too. Huge shoutout to the lunch people and the janitors. The school is always clean. I really do love this school, it’s just the people in my grade don’t really let me be who I wanna be, and I feel pressured to fit in. But that’s about it, Emerson is a great school with great spirit and yeah!

Principal changes ever 2-3 years. When we asked why this one teacher doesn't grade homework or even check to see if it's completed the answer from teacher and principal was " we leave it to the integrity of the 4th grader to do their work". We decided to look into other schools and are much happier. If moving for public schools, Glenview has one of the best districts in the country.

I personally enjoyed my time here. I thought most of my teachers were able to effectively teach course content and support me when needed. I enjoyed the different extracurricular programs here, and overall had a great high school experience. Of course, no school is perfect, but I do believe Maine East does very well and provides many opportunities for students to learn, grow, and prepare for life. I had never feared for my safety at school and enjoyed learning from the different cultures and perspectives that made Maine East unique.

My three children had a great experience at Maine South High School. We moved into Park Ridge because of the the school system. I wish my kids had the current principal (2025) rather than the previous but it didn't matter in the end.
