Description

Our beautiful modernist house, an abstractionist step beyond mid-century modern, sits in the Berkeley Hills, just a short drive to SF & Oakland, and in close proximity to UC Berkeley, the magnificent Indian Rock Park, John Hinkel Park, Berkeley Rose Garden, Tilden Park, Lawrence Hall of Science, MSRI, Berkeley Repertory Theatre, BAMPFA (Berkeley Art Museum & Pacific Film Archives)*, the famous Gourmet Ghetto & the Solano Eateries.

It is accessible from Downtown & North Berkeley BART stations via car by 10 minutes, and bus by 15 minutes. 35-minutes drive to San Francisco; 20 minutes by BART. (Car parking available at North Berkeley BART station.) Lyft & Uber never more than 7 minutes away!

The apartment for rent (and the entire house) is exquisitely designed by Donald Olsen, the famous Berkeley architect who taught at UC Berkeley, and also designed the much-talked-about Wurster Hall, the Dog-like building that houses the Architecture Dept at Cal. It faces West for both spectacular sunsets and breathtaking views of the Bay, the City, and the Golden Gate. The tastefully-furnished suite includes a private living room, bedroom, well-appointed kitchenette, hallway & a full bathroom with a tub.

The space
A super comfy queen bed, layered in Muji pure-cotton bed linen, awaits you in the bedroom, which also has a full-sized closet with hangers and a smooth West Elm dresser.

The kitchenette comes with a mini refrigerator, full size convection-cum-microwave oven, ample shelving, electric range, sink, silverware, plates, bowls, blender, rice-cooker, kettle, cookware, pot-holders etc.

The TV in the living room is ready to Chromecast your lineup from Netflix or Amazon Prime. Comfortably catch up on work at the desk & ergonomic chair, while contemplating the famous Berkeley Hills view of the city-by-the-bay and the Golden Gate Bridge... perhaps even observe the casual visit of a deer. Or lounge on the butter-soft leather couch to read a book or play a game from our collection.

The hallway has two closets: a full-size open closet and a linen closet with shelves stacked with multiple sets of bed linens, towels of all sizes, first aid kit, and clothes iron.

Includes utilities, PG&E, EBMUD (water), high speed (Gigabit) internet, and Recycling & Trash pick up fees.

No pets, no smoking. We all love clean air as much as possible especially with the current pandemic, and are super conscientious w.r.t. consumption of water and power in view of the pending ecological crisis.

"I grew up on Oakvale Ave & Domingo, and even as a kid I felt that Claremont was the best neighborhood ever: so many families, with genuine community spirit, and all kinds of beautiful, secret places to explore (safely). Now that I’ve lived in Palo Alto, Bryn Mawr, Philadelphia, Manhattan—and raising my own three children in Brooklyn—it’s clear to me that this neighborhood is a uniquely special, sometimes magical, place to grow up. I wish I could move it to Brooklyn!"

From helping the elderly to supporting the youth it's one big fest of communities colliding together and having each other backs. Let's not forget the big parties and many fusion restaurants they have to offer. With its diversity of multicultural foods the possibilities are endless and of course let's not forget our classics to New York style pizza to traditional Mexican cuisine it's an abyss of nothing but delicious food coming your way "
