7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI am a 8th grader at Paul Revere. The school itself has a big campus, with a farm, and a large PE field. My issue are the teachers. There are a few hidden gems, my elective teacher, and my old math teacher. But, some, nay, most teachers here seem unprofessional. Some barely teach, and some get mad for reasons beyond my understanding. Most students here are awful. There is a bullying problem and kids are not engaged. Most are just on their phones. Vaping is another issue. A lot of the bathrooms smell like smoke and students vape and smoke drugs an awful amount. The teachers never notice any of the things I have stated above. I’m not telling you to not send your kid here, because I have made some memories I will never forget, and safety isn’t a big issue, like the school is in a wealthy neighborhood and I don’t believe there will be any shootings anytime soon. I constantly get messages about equity and inclusion and how I should support it but nothing ever about how to protect all student from the weekly fights that take place between non-white students. The Spanish teacher (chair of the Spanish Dept.) has an LGBTQ flag in her classroom that she took down for back to school night when parents were going to be at the school. The next day, she put it back up. Strange. Seems she’s hiding something. Patents are not made to feel welcome and are questioned at the entrance upon showing ID. I’m surprised they’re not frisked, which is what should be done with most of the students. They also got rid of school security for the 2022-23 school year and fights broke out weekly, if not more, between non-white students. I now am in middle school (grade 7) and I have 1 sibling that currently goes to Kenter and all I can say is that it’s simply an amazing school, and that I had an amazing experience regardless of going there for only 2 years.
