Description

The home has frontage on Lake Michigan and is on 2.3 wooded acres one-fourth mile north of Point Beach State Forest in Manitowoc County. The Manitowoc School Forest is one-fourth mile further north. These public forests dominate all of the Point Beach lakeshore north of Two Rivers and insure that the area will not become overly developed. This 2.3 acre property is the largest property with lake frontage in this short one-half mile of privately owned lake frontage. The Point Beach area, including our land, is covered with a mature pine and mixed hardwood forest. The land was subdivided around 1940 and the 2.3 acres is actually six lots which could be divided. The property is probably more valuable intact, however. The property is very accessible with 390 feet of frontage on Highway O, 300 feet of frontage on Oak Road and 200 feet of frontage on Wild Cherry Road. Oak and Wild Cherry Roads are dead end roads. The house is set back from the 70 feet of frontage on Lake Michigan to provide protection from lake winds. The link below to Mapquest will show Lake Drive between the property and the lake. Lake Drive was in the original survey but was never completed and has been vacated by the Town of Two Rivers. It does not exist. Rip-rap has been placed at the high water line to protect from shoreline erosion. The rip-rap has been covered with wind blown sand over the years to create a low sand dune between the house and the beach. This provides both easy access to the beach and protection from the lake. The property also includes one and one-half lots actually on the beach below the high water line. This land was lost to shoreline erosion in the 1970s before we placed the rip-rap on the beach. This is a unique feature of the property because, in Wisconsin, the state normally owns the beach up to the high water line. This part of the property is 150 feet north to south along the beach and 100 feet from the high water line to the water. In addition, the Town of Two Rivers has e

"There are many families here and is a quaint and close knit town. However the public school district is horrible. Please send your kids to private school. "

  • Jaird C.
"I find it to fit that tiny percentage of home towns that are still enriched with traditions but not to the point of keeping it close minded or judgmental that so many other small towns fall victim to all to often."
  • Clarice P.
"I've only lived in this neighborhood for about a month and all I've met are friendly; welcoming people."
  • Darlaanded
"A good neighborhood to live in. Wouldn’t want to live any place else. Only lacking more retail stores in immediate area."
  • janettrich
"I lived and worked in the area for 8 years and loved every minute of it. Great community, wonderful theatre (Capitol Civic Center), great symphony and wind ensamble, music almost every week at Washington park, great kite festival, ethinic festival, car show, harvest festival in Two Rivers and much more. There is a great 7 mile bike trail from Two Rivers to Manitowoc that goes all along lake michigan, looks and feels like living by the ocean, great farmers market with many vendors, so much fun in the summer. I miss this town. Anyone moving here will not be disappointed. Small town living with so much to offer. I was truely sad when we moved away."
