I have tried to give this school district a chance. It has been shocking to see and hear of all of the fighting occurring on school grounds. Fights are often recorded and airdropped. Constant bullying issues and little to zero response from admin. I've reached out to teachers without even acknowledgment that they've received my message. Teachers and school will harp on parents to be involved but it's common for teachers to be unresponsive and not update gradebooks for 2+ months. They basically make it impossible for you to be involved in a meaningful way. This is just the culture of this district.When it comes to the education aspect of the high school, I guess I wouldn't have a clue. There is never any homework and so I have no clue how my child is doing until I log on to Skyward and grades are updated (if and when that happens). If there is trouble with the work, it's too late by then because the term grades are final.I realize that understaffing and burnout are real. I am empathetic but at the same time public schools have responsibilities to honor and I just don't feel like that happens here. My child is sometimes scared to go to school because of the constant drama and lackadaisical attitude to violence, vape sales and drugs.

The new Ignite program with students becoming involved in Leadership roles and mentors is wonderful. The staff addresses bullying and academic issues with the same vigor and consistently communicate with families. The sports are wonderful for students but the Robotic Club, Book Club, etc. show the dedication of staff to improve the life of their students and is ALL volunteer. The school is wonderful.

Great teachers who truly care about students.
