Near Bronxville, 84 Parkway East is a lovingly preserved "Mariner Tudor" by George H. Gilbert, a Mount Vernon architect who added a sailing ship to his designs. (This one is incised in plaster over the living-room fireplace.) Original hardware, chestnut woodwork and textured plaster walls. Thoughtfully updated kitchen; central air-conditioning; boiler replaced. Two fireplaces, one in the nicely finished basement. Professionally planted front yard with a brick patio and moss garden in back.
