This school is great. As a former student, I loved my elementary school experience. Even through covid learning was possible. The teachers are mostly kind. Some are strict but they make sure you are still learning. My education was phenomenal here. However, I felt like kids with more money had more “perks.” They were kinda favored with the teachers even if they weren’t good students. The mean kids/bullies always got awards. Every year, I was in gifted. Year after year I kept getting put with kids that were nice, but they weren’t gifted and that’s the truth. They always needed tutoring, extra help, etc. This is my only complaint.

Teachers don't make an effort to communicate with parents. The grading system is a disaster. Sometimes homework and assignments are not graded. Some teachers don't grade assignments and exams until the end of the marking period, therefore most parents don't know what's going on until it's too late. The principal doesn't have much influence on the teachers.

Honestly, the school isn't awful, but they enforce punishments very unequally. For example, the dress code. We have no uniform, but we have a dress code. The assistant principals only enforce the dress code on girls, and even then results vary. My friend and I wore the exact same thing one day: a thick-strapped tank top with long pants. Tank tops are technically not in the dress code, but that is rarely enforced. My friend and I walked into the school and without warning one of the assistant principals started yelling at me and issued me a detention. I was standing next to somebody wearing the exact same thing as me, and he did not care. Four girls wearing significantly less walked by in the amount of time it took for the detention to be issued. I was in my last year of high school and it was the first detention I had been issued EVER.The teachers at this school are incredible, especially the AP ones, they teach concepts that are difficult in an intuitive way that makes them easy to understand. Unfortunately, the environment of the school is ruined by a handful of assistant principals who have nothing better to do than unequally enforce a dress code which is probably older than them. Instant detention for a shoulder peeking out is extreme.
