7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWhile the teachers say they want to work with you and do respond in a somewhat timely manner, if you find out your child is struggling the teacher he had said she was going to compile a list for us to work on and then told my son in class to work on one subject at a time instead of sending everything home so we can work on different subjects. My son has reported that their lunches are always cold and as a result taste like it’s been sitting out for a long time. They basically get no warm lunches so a lot of food gets thrown out. During recess the yard aides don’t let the kids relax in the shade if it’s hot out. They expect kids to play the whole time even during triple digit weather! If you’re late picking up your child they make them wait outside the office, even during bad/hot weather. Kids try to wait in the office because it’s hot and the office people make them go back outside in the heat, even if the children are completely quiet. Their communication overall is extremely delayed so you will need to call the office to get any information otherwise they send out information the night before or after the fact. Last minute the principal emailed that the school received funds to send all kids in 2 months for “a week” which is for 3 days of the week and the number of students attending depends on how many chaperones can go. What about teachers? How can you get funding to take all students but then give such a limited window to complete the forms, have chaperones apply (process is 2 month process), and its first come process so if not enough chaperones not all students can go. They give absolutely no time for parents to make arrangements or give consideration for all kids to make it to Camp Keep.Parent Review8mo ago7 Reviews - Abraham Lincoln Jr. High

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageBHS is an amazing high school that has something for everyone. My eldest daughter graduated last year and had an amazing experience getting involved in clubs and academics along with making lasting friendships. A plethora of clubs are offered along with many other classes, such as ceramics, fashion, home economics, and wood/metal shop. The gate/honors program is incredible with caring/committed teachers. We love BHS! It's the best in Bakersfield.Parent Review6y ago3 Reviews - Check out schools near 823 E 18th St.

"Safe Halloween, and lots of family activities held by city of Bakersfield and kern county. I’ve lived in Los Angeles county before I bought a home here in Bakersfield, and Bakersfield is hands down way better than Los Angeles County "
