"It’s a lot of construction, so my commute to work is a little rough in the morning, as well as the afternoon. Otherwise, I really have no complaints about the commute. I’ve been here for 4 years"
  • A neighbor
"Republican leaning area. Cute shopping options, antiques, and cafes. Halloween Capital. Great mix of small town feel and suburb living. Lots of organized clubs for kids from the usual sports, to Scouts, 4H, gymnastics, dance, drama,. Everything within 20 minutes easy."
  • Todd Y.
"Anoka is a great place to live! Small town feel with everything you need. Great public transportation. Great walking or bike path by the River. Great Downtown area with shops and restaurants. "
  • Anita M. B.
"I have lived in Anoka on and off for several years. There are parts of Anoka that are really great to live in and their other pockets of the city that are not the greatest areas. You have to be mindful of the location you’re looking into and you can usually tell by the houses on your street. I live on Ferry Street, which is very noisy and very loud and a lot of traffic goes by. There is also a lot of car racing which happens very close to my front door. "
  • Andrew S.
"Perfect. Close to work and the town but far enough out to not be too busy. Not too bad of traffic and great cops in the area. "
  • Jasonbrandt44
"Lots n of kids and family oriented activities happening weekly. Large city kept parks and a great aquatic center for summer fun. Outdoor parks flooded in the winter for excellent ice skating. "
  • Jasonbrandt44
"There are parks in the area, seems like every 10 block radius. Kids are always there. Winter brings outdoor ice skating. The downtown shops are all unique and typically people are walking from store to store on weekend events. "
  • Mosborne0225
"The city puts on a really good parade every year for Halloween. Then in the evening there is a beer tent with live music for some adult activities. Downtown is really small but that is what makes it great. "
  • Grace W.
"Downtown Anoka is always a treat for shopping, dinner, walking around, or bar hopping. And of course, October is the BEST in the Halloween Capital of the World!"
  • Ryan B.
"I've lived here since 2011 and love the neighborhood, schools and how easy it is to get to the downtown area to shop and eat."
  • Janet S.
"Something for everyone from 6 yrs to 80 + yrs. Pride of the area shows in both the dedication to caring of neighbors , friendships , & truly old fashioned Minnesota Nice!"
  • semgriffith
"I used to live in Anoka and found it to be the epitome of "Minnesota Nice". Our neighbors were so genuine and caring- they helped me out numerous times! The Coon Rapids shopping area is close and has every store you need!"
  • singatune
"We live in this area and find it very quiet with numerous parks and churches. The best neighbors anywhere."
