The apartment is located on both levels of the house, which has a huge fenced-in backyard -- great for dogs! The apartment has its own private entrance via the backyard.

The house is one mile from Oak Hill Plaza's stores, as well as 20 other stores, restaurants, and gas stations. The house is on a quiet residential street with easy parking for guests and minimal crime; indeed, there are several families whose children play in the neighborhood.

The apartment has all of the normal rooms you'd expect -- including access to a laundry room with a washer and dryer -- except there is no living room. Tenants have the option of converting the dining room (or one of the bedrooms) into a living room; currently, the dining room has a nice table and chairs.

Tenants need to pay only one utility bill: The combined electricity/water/trash bill that averages only $150/month, because the house's solar panels have almost eliminated the cost of electricity!

(The owner has a tiny apartment whose entrance is the main front door of the house. But because the owner is based in Europe, he stays in his Austin apartment for only 10-12 days per year; otherwise, his apartment is unoccupied.) So the new tenants will essentially be renting a house and yard, rather than a mere apartment.

The owner would prefer a multi-year lease, but the minimum is a one-year lease.
