Recently renovated in 2015, the house features a brand new furnace, water heater, and air conditioner so your utility bills will reflect the updated energy efficiency. The landlord employs full time maintenance staff and is very responsive, any maintenance issues are immediately taken care of.
In the front of the home you will find a large screened-in porch. The front door leads into an entryway with a coat closet. The spacious living room features a beautiful fireplace with built-in bookshelves. Tons of windows and natural light throughout the home. Wood floors in all living areas and bedrooms.
Directly off of the living room is a large dining area, with a patio door that makes the large deck on the back of the home easily accessible for grilling, and entertaining guests. Another benefit for entertaining- the dining and kitchen are separated by an island for extra seating options and serving snacks.
The kitchen includes a large refrigerator, sink with disposal, dishwasher, and electric stove/oven. The kitchen has plenty of cabinet space to store all of your cookware, plus a cute little nook for a small table, desk, or shelving to fit your needs. Continuing on through the back hallway you will find a powder room and steps leading to the side door of the home, as well as steps down to the basement.
The basement is unfinished but quite large and features sturdy wooden shelving for plenty of storage. There is a "work room" with extra electrical outlets that would be perfect for hobbies or a space to store tools, etc. The washer and dryer are located in the basement, and included in the rent.
Upstairs you will find three bedrooms, each with a closet (one of the bedrooms has two closets). There is a large linen closet and a full bathroom featuring a shower/tub combo.
Outside, as I mentioned there is a large deck with plenty of space for a table and chairs as well as a grill. The backyard is not huge - less grass to mow! But there are lots of trees and plants to create a private enclave. The driveway is quite large and could easily fit four cars, plus there is a two-car garage (detached). The house is also located on a quiet, dead-end street, so the neighborhood children often play and ride their bikes without any issues.
The neighborhood is close to bike trails, a quick bike ride away from beautiful Lake Mendota. As a Shorewood Hills resident you will have the option to purchase a pool membership for the summer (also a very quick bike ride away).
