4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWhen my son began Cunningham the School was a mess and out of control with students on a road of Failure as they moved thru and onto Slater Jr. Parent Involvement was at a all time low or Not happening and Teachers Struggling with a I don't care attitude from students. The School Building look like shit with Graffiti and the surrounding of the school filthy with trash, broken glass and uncut grass. Since that time, we the Caring Loving Parents with the Caring Loving Teachers have worked hard to bring Community of Students back to our children. My Daughter started in the school last year not seeing the same school as my son did. Mr. Zona did a good work making the school more inviting and Important inside for the children with the Vocabulary Parade and the STAR Student Program became a beacon of Hope for the children day by day. The new principal is carrying on with those programs and the children are more proud of themselves then ever. Last spring I sat in my back yard with our local state representative Mr. Tobon to talk about raising Tip workers base pay and ended our talk mentioning how our Cunningham look like shit and that's what the students SEE every day as they enter the Building. I said the children of the school think it's Normal and feel NO Pride. I said if there is No School Pride, There is No Unity of the Students. The School needs to be there home, a place to be Proud, a place all will feel protected, a place they will protect. A place to earn and learn respect for each others Common, Equal Efforts. I want to say the Thank You HASBRO and Volunteers for the New Outside Paint on the building with the added Symbols' of Education and all the cleaning and Landscaping with added seating for children to sit around a tree. It's Outstanding Community Involvement after so many years of neglect. I find the school 10 times better now, we just need more parent involvement to keep the school safe and help keep the school area clean. Got it, Get it, Do it!Parent Review10y ago5 Reviews - Joseph Jenks Junior High School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis is my third time experience with this school and all I can say is thank you for all the teachers and authorities that help every day to students, yes there are issues , but nobody is perfect, as long there is communication between parents and teacher the engagement in school from parents is crucial for your child's success, if you just drop off your kids to school and go to work, it not going to happen, us parents must be engaged and follow up with the performance of our children at all times. Thank you Jenks for all your efforts. My 3 children now 25, 23 had a great experience and now my 11 year old is also there, he is doing great!Parent Review3y ago7 Reviews - William E. 2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs a student from Tolman High School, I can say from experience that if it wasn't for attending this high school I wouldn't be who I am today. Because of Tolman, I got to network and meet leaders in Rhode Island Criminal Justice System. Tolman gave me an internship in which I could of never imagined would make an ever lasting connection. Now I am in my Junior year of College studying law and proceeding to go to Law School after I graduate. Tolman is a very diverse school, and because of that I learned to communicate and work with other people of different races. Of course like many know, Tolman does have bad apples and people who don't care about their education. However, in my years at Tolman, every teacher motivated me and pushed me to my limits. The portfolio gave me a way to display my hardwork but also it prepared me for the workforce. I know that some students that graduated in 2010 with me can say the same. I have been asked to go back to Tolman and speak to the students about my experience and what doors it opened up for me. If any one does have any questions, email me. I'll tell you the truth.Student Review13y ago10 Reviews - Check out schools near 81 Appleton Ave.

"Pawtucket offers the perfect mix of convenience, character, and community. It is close to everything—highways, shopping, restaurants, parks, and Providence—while still feeling like a neighborhood with history and charm. It is a practical location with great everyday access."

"My family is peaceful and pleasant. We are very happy, we like to spend time at home and with the family, we like to have spring and summer plants, our free time is with a book or maybe a movie, we are not rowdy and we do not like garbage, we are a small family that loves animals."

"Drug addicts, people looking into your trash cans. The fact that one day you will wake up and your grill will be missing or the 4 wheel and tires of your truck. I been living here for a year and all those things already happened to me. So I dont want to know whoever lives here longer than me"

"I'll be real, it's not safe as you might compare with a few areas. It's safe to a certain extent. The other side of Pawtucket is calmer but it really depends where. Main St, too much trouble"

There are also some auto places in areas to have your vehicle looked at. All in all not a bad area to live in. "

"I've lived here for 50 years. The character of the neighborhood has changed from owners, to renters. Nobody talks to each other anymore. Violent crimes are common. Slater Park lost all of its large animals due to neglect. The PawSox are leaving in one year. The city's largest employer - Hasbro - is leaving. The city's local hospital - Memorial - closed down 2 years ago. Famous local restaurants have mostly closed, only to be replaced by a "dollar store." The city is in serious decline, with property values certain to follow."
