"Short walk to a few places but mainly need car or bike to get around. Rideshare is expensive and unreliable and public transport is non existent. "
  • Trulia User
"Safe Multicultural low key friendly convenient to the beach and shopping. I like it here. Multiple parks in the area. "
  • reyna3hsd
"I don’t live in Destin, I live in Baker, FL. I think dog owners would, give or take, like my neighborhood. It’s a farm neighborhood, but it depends on what dog they have. If they have acreage and a working dog, they’ll love it. If they have a lab or something like that, they might get run over"
  • Gwen York
"It’s a nice area to live and work. Locals and tourists are respectful of each other, which creates a friendly community atmosphere."
  • Sjmszttqft
"Amazing place to live, nice neighbors, calm, peaceful. Near everything. Just 10 minutes walk from the beach."
  • Maxconn30
"My commute is 2 miles from my home and takes an average of 6 minutes to get there. The summer tourist traffic is not as bad as it used to be now that the road construction is finished. "
  • Hanjin02
"Here is very nice place, nice neighborhood. Place like diamond. I would like to recommend here to other people."
  • Trulia User
"Safe quite down to earth ppl that are rich pet loving children, loving, very family orientated people are very well mannered"
  • Alex.gbot
"It takes 30 minutes during the summer to get to my job and i live 5 minutes away. There should be a light in front of my current apartment complex but there isn’t, since there isn’t theres an accident there at least 2 times a month. Also there used to be a side street that residents could use to be able to bypass 98 but someone bought the property its on and has done NOTHING with the property but has COMPLETELY blocked off the road. "
  • Cstringer260
"So many I can’t count. Great place to retire or raise a beautiful family. Got to love the water because we have plenty of it. Beautiful place to live."
  • Jordan Harrill
"I’m just visiting Destin, Fl but the craft beer is good so far. And the hospitality is great. And the amenities are nice. "
  • FishGuru
"Everyday interaction really, from getting to know the neighborhood kids to giving advice or lending a hand . Everyone here knows everyone so in a way we all look out for one another . I would say that is the same overall feel I get in the neighboring cities as well . "
  • Dshreve1

"fireworks displays...every major holiday. college football tailgating on saturday mornings and afternoons are not unusual."
  • Jimmie G.
"There is tons of traffic in the summer time. Starting on Spring Break we get tourist from all over primarily the Midwest. It gets crowded fast. "
  • Donna F. P.
"Uber is the only transport other than your own vehicle. I have a 20 minute cute to work. Traffic is up in the summer and lower in the fall. "
  • Seg24
"Depends on time of year. Local travel on scenic is easy but 98 can get very congested and it can take an hour to go 10 miles "
  • Kwtfla

  • Nicoleemily7
