3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI graduated from CHS and felt well prepared for my college experience, and have since gone on to law school. The core curriculum includes options such as Latin, and several AP options. I do think the school falls short in addressing the level gaps between Collingswood students and students from the receiver schools, which are behind compared to the Collingswood elementary schools.Parent Review3y ago11 Reviews - Collingswood Middle School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe are now in 3rd grade at Garfield and we could not be happier with the education our child receives. Our youngest will be entering Kindergarten in the fall and we are excited to finally have both our children at Garfield together. Not only does our child receive a fantastic education but all of the teachers, as well as the school's principal, are so helpful and easy to talk to. We love our community and close-knit town. We are very fortunate to live where we do and to attend a school that is looking out for our child's best interest. If you need before or after school care, the Just Kids program at Garfield is top notch. Our child is very happy there and we could not be happier with the care he receives through them.Parent Review11y ago9 Reviews - Mark Newbie Elementary School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMark Newbie Elementary is the best elementary school in Collingswood. This school is all inclusive and welcomes parental input. Newbie has given my children a strong educational foundation and has taught my children to be kind to others. We love this school!Parent Review8y ago7 Reviews - Thomas Sharp Elementary School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son is going to the 3rd grade this year and he started in the 2nd. I must say he has overcome a lot of obstacles due to his learning disability. To have went to other school starting from kindergarten, it was hard for him to understand and learn on the level the state thinks he should have been. It took for me and Sharp school to get him the help he so badly needed because the other schools weren't listening to what I had to say about how he needed help. I am forever grateful for the staff. I love love love his teacher Ms. Curcio formally know as Ms. Proudfoot. If not for Sharp he would still be falling so far behind and I love the school staff for all the hard work they put into the students, families and community.Parent Review2y ago14 Reviews - William P. Tatem Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOur child has been at Tatem since 2020 and we have been extremely pleased. Every teacher we've encountered has been kind, very available to parents with questions or concerns, and willing to make accommodations or adjustments for kids with special needs. The principal greets the children as they arrive in the morning and knows every single kid by name. The school does a lot to foster a culture of kindness and there are numerous events for kids and families throughout the year. I have heard negative feedback about one or two teachers, but since that hasn't been our experience, I really can't speak to it. The complaint from another reviewer about there not being a stage is just bizarre. By and large the elementary schools hold large events like year-end concerts at the Middle School, which has a great auditorium and stage (the middle and high schools both have fantastic theater programs.) All students have music twice a week and art and ASL once a week. Collingswood is growing, especially now that we have free Universal Pre-K (extremely attractive to parents with young kids, as some nearby towns don't have pre-k and only have half day kindergarten.) As a result of this growth, space is an issue. However, the township is actively working on a plan to expand capacity, and they've kept classes at a reasonable size, finding additional classroom spaces rather than making classes bigger.Parent Review1y ago7 Reviews - Zane North Elementary School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe recently moved to Collingswood and became part of the Zane Family. Our 5 year old started Kindergarten and is excelling! When I say "excelling" I mean that we were concerned about moving to a completely new town and how it would affect our five year old. Our worries, have disappeared after he has repeatedly told us how much he loves his new school and by our own observations. Collingswood is a community and Zane is no exception. I know I'm starting to sound like an advertisement, but my wife and I were really worried.Other Review8y ago5 Reviews - Check out schools near 809 Haddon Ave.

"It is a small town, especially once you have kids and join in that aspect of town activities. There are many rec activities for kids. I have made friends here that I can lean on as a parent. The community often steps up to support other members. There is largely a culture of acceptance in Collingswood. It feels like home."

"Great commute to the city. By far the closest suburb to philly with great restaurants. We love Zeppoli, Hearthside, Porch & Proper, Bistro Di Marino, Primos, Kitchen Consigliere, Arctic Freeze, Constellation Collective, SAGAMI, Donkeys Place & Crabs plus. It’s also super convenient to cherry hill mall and wegmans. I can’t wait for the new Costco to open up! The draw for us was walking our dog in Knights Park- it’s like a nature walk every day!"

"Easy access to several highways. Collingswood is located approx. 4 miles to both the Ben Franklin and Walt Whitman bridges into Philly. There is a Patco station located in town that provides cheap ($5.50 round trip) transportation into the city as well. Uber/Lyft services are decently priced. "

"We are actually LIVING in the Collingswood part of Collingswood/Haddon Township area and have been in this area for almost 17 years because we LOVE everything about the area: folks are generally friendly but will also give you your privacy if that’s what you prefer, they watch out for each other and the community’s safety, close to all kinds of shopping, dining, AND transportation. The only thing that’s a bit on the negative side is that SO many of the rental places have gone up SO much that they’re getting to be just ridiculously high for what you actually “get” for your $$. Still a great area though!🤗"
