My son has attended this school since kindergarten and is now in first grade. Unfortunately, his kindergarten experience was largely negative. A significant factor was the school’s decision to keep a teacher’s aide in the classroom who repeatedly targeted my child with yelling and aggressive behavior. Despite multiple reports of this conduct ( just just us but other teachers in this school has told me she does this to most students), the aide was allowed to remain.As my son transitioned into first grade, it became clear that he had already been labeled as a “problem.” On the very first day, his new teacher stated she had been told he had issues in kindergarten. Since then, my child has been disproportionately scrutinized and disciplined for behaviors that other students engage in without consequence.He has been physically and verbally attacked by other students in classrooms, hallways, and common areas. When he defended himself, he was punished and is now labeled a bully. We have raised these concerns repeatedly with staff and administration at multiple levels, yet there has been no meaningful change in how my child is treated. Instead, there appears to be a consistent pattern of adults protecting one another and placing blame solely on a first-grade child rather than holding grown professionals accountable.Students have threatened my son, kicked and pushed him, called him names, and even told him that family members would harm him. These incidents have resulted in little to no response from the school. To be clear, my child is six years old.At this point, it is evident that bullying is pervasive within this school, involving not only students but also teachers and aides. After exhausting every reasonable avenue, we no longer feel our child is safe in this environment. As a result, we plan on withdrawing him and transitioning to homeschooling
