"I don’t have to travel far to get to where I’m going. Shopping entertainment fishing, etc. I really like this area!"
  • Margaret Bridges Brasfield
"Short commute , easy to get around though out … no complaint on this area..love the availability of transportation "
  • Monica Cefalu
"Location, close to restaurants, shops, the beach, jones park and the aquarium. Great friendly neighbors. "
  • Disneymom117
"Roads need to be paved and widened. Close to many places so doesn’t really take long to get to where I need to go. Definitely needs more sidewalks and bike lanes. "
  • Adrienne Jacobs
"Not the neighborhood it used to be. Sone areas are still nice but .. there’s really not that much that I can say "
  • Lafinstok
"I am retired and no longer “commute” anywhere. I do wish the city would finish widening Dedeaux Road. There are too many cars for a two-lane road."
  • Candice H.
"close to everything you need and I-10 for commute to work. lots of traffic, but still fairly quiet. the community came together after Hurricane Zeta and cuts trees and cleared the streets. "
  • Brandon C.
"its nice and the people are friendly. Never had any kind of trouble and we live very close to the beach "
  • Jacqui T.
"Dogs are welcome. Most neighbors have a dog. It’s a busy street during the day but very quiet at night. There is a hospital. Darby so the dogs do not really care for the ambulance siren. Great yards. Close to beach. "
  • All803
"My commute in Gulfport is short, but traffic is unpredictable. Rush hour can be at 2:30p or 6:15p. BUMPY streets. Polite drivers."
  • Mtwerner
"Lots of dogs in the neighborhood and a creek is close by so my dogs always are eating toads 🤦🏻‍♀️ safe subdivisions to walk through if you're on the main road. On Orage Grove Rd everyone speeds so keep your dog's leashed!"
  • Candace M.
"I am personally a dog owner and feel safe walking my dog around my neighborhood and others also walk their dogs around the neighborhood too."
  • Shastine M. M. A.
"dislike that someone has 5 cats they let roam freely, cats have tried to sneak into my home and my dogs do not like them, cats have gotten onto my roof and stay there yowling all night. some people leave building materials on the side of the road with nails in it all the time, visitors litter the neighborhood with trash"
  • Lauren I.
"Eclectic neighborhood-variety of ages, races, incomes, etc. people are friendly and the school district is one of the best in the region!"
  • Trinette S.
"Safe neighborhood for children and the neighbors are nice can be noisy due to living close to the race track but I love it"
  • Adrian M. H.
"A wide array of schools in the area. Great eateries. Mostly quiet and everyone keeps to themselves. "
  • Denise J.
"Not many children here right now. Convenient to stores and restaurants. Overall nice neighborhood. It's great location."
  • Angelnicole8393
"Nice people and good quiet atmosphere that is pet friendly and people friendly I’ve been here for about a year "
  • Natcandy09
"Nice for walking dogs daily and the area is beautiful and clean. I love our community to include the pets "
  • Sharina F.
"There are local events all of the time. Chrck the local community calendar for information. Cruising the coast ismost popular."
  • Alexisdodge99
"Nothing really makes it special but Jones park is down the road and they have a bunch of events there."
  • Mattie B.
"Straight shot down hwy. 49 easy in morning busy around 5pm. All stores and places need are easy to find"
  • Krystalcarmichael
"There are some but i have never attended. Just a nice place to live and work and food schools for my children. "
  • Tscsjs
"I know we have a news letter and get togethers. Haven’t been available to attend. Neighbors are all very friendly. Thanks for asking. "
  • Bill P.
"We always decorate the house for holidays. Very safe and quiet. No crime. Good neighbors. Nice central location for anything on the coast"
  • Alvin.rivers
"Nice place to live or visit for a vacation . The people are nice and easy to get along with . The worst part is the summers"
  • Krystalcarmichael
"There are no side walks in my neighborhood. I would suggest better lighting down some streets and friendlier neighborhoods. I think we have lots of people who only like their kind. "
  • Ms S.
"The people with dogs allow their pets to poop in your yard and not clean it up. It does have a dog park but no one uses it."
  • Natcandy09
"Dog owners would love this neighborhood. It’s near the beach and plenty of dog walking and play spaces."
  • Natcandy09
"Safe and family oriented. Close to the beach and a well maintained public park and community center."
  • Atrilya
"Quiet and nice peaceful I get along with all my neighbors and the kids can play outside haven’t had any problems with orders being at the front door when I get off and break ins"
  • Saminder M.
"It’s ok nothing good but good for old ppl and new generation. Some ppl don’t wanna talk with specially old people. Some of them so rude ."
  • Loverofnirvana
"I have lived her for two years and love it. The neighbors in the area keep to themselves but also look out for your property if they dont see the regular house members or someone snooping around. They would rather say something then not. They aren’t rude either. "
  • Stockardeva
"Not having a lame HOA For a community with zero amenities and practically no common ground is what would make this neighborhood unique. "
  • Ms S.
"Crime. Over zealous police officers. Theft. Break ins and robberies........................................."
  • Vicki
"It’s a nice area to raise a family or retire... it slow and easy like Sunday mornings! Great area to ride bikes and walk. "
  • pbinms
"Gulfport has mostly kind people. But like everywhere else in the US crime rates are rising. Still the Mississippi Gulf Coast is a great place to live and play. "
  • Pbinms
"The park is a great place to swim walk and exercise. Children play outdoors and are relatively safe. "
  • Sandy Wisniewski
"We lived in New York and came to visit to relocate, but the people appear unfriendly and not willing to help us find a home. The realtors are never around to show us places and have an attitude if you show up 15 minutes late. Sorry, but we are not from this area and would prefer following said car instead of just arriving at some gas station and have the realtor leave and not bother to follow up and call you back. I mean if, 1:15 p.m. turns to be 1:25 p.m. and the realtor just leaves you there with no homes to visit, I think that is very rude to only allow 5 mins. per 3 homes and then just leaves you up to your own device. I got a very cold feeling the way people from the South treat people from the North. We are friendly people and just want to be treated with respect. What is up with everyone. Are they still fighting the civil war, which we did not create and are not responsible for any wars."
  • Gagebouffanie
"well it's nice but traffic on highway 49 is pretty rough, but the coast is really nice with a play ground and water park "
