We love lake nona middle school! Amazing teachers and staff!

This is the worst school ever. It was originally built to accommodate 2,600 students, but currently has almost 6,000. That alone tells you a lot about the school. The staff are very rude to both parents and students. Kids spend a lot of time in the cafeteria because there often aren't any teachers available. When teachers do show up, they’re usually in a bad mood and treat the students like criminals.We bought a house in Laureate Park because we were told the school was supposed to be good. Who can afford a private school are lucky. Most people here are very upset with the school.

This is a strong school with a clear focus on academics, especially in math. The state-mandated FAST program has been very effective, and many of the families here truly value education, which creates a positive learning environment. I also had consistent communication with my son’s teacher, which I really appreciated.Like any school, the classroom experience depends on the teacher you’re assigned, and there are a few practices I don’t love...such as using laps during recess as a consequence. My biggest concern is with the school administration. They can come across as cold and not always transparent, so I often found myself double-checking information against the OCPS website to be sure it was accurate.Overall, the academics are strong and many teachers are great, but I would love to see more warmth and clearer communication from leadership.
