3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIf you want to send your child to a school that doesn't care about them, their education, or the kind of learning environment they're in... this is the place for you. Daily fist fights between students, just letting kids with special needs pass rather than putting in the work to REALLY teach them, no enforced dress code, or ANY code for that matter. You can skip or have horrible grades and still magically play a sport or compete in cheer. I feel sad for the students at this school. Most have no support at home or at the school. The few that want to learn and succeed are drowned out by the chaos that is almost constant in their classrooms. Students went from 2 specials to 6 (PE, Art, Music, Computers, Library, and RW Lab), have new curriculum for reading and math, and have an intervention and enrichment block each day to fill learning gaps or to challenge students. The teachers care for the students... the kids are disciplined and teachers/staff are on top of it..fun activities for the students. They are trying and it shows. Is this a perfect school? No. Are the students perfect? No. Let’s face it all schools have their goods and their bads. If you hear that Magee is a bad school.. don’t listen. See for yourself. You maybe surprised like I was. "The first time I was in this area it was around Halloween. Everyone was out on there driveways. Some had fire pits, as the sidewalks were loaded with kids. A tractor with a trailer loaded with hay and families. What a special place."
