N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageJohn Paulding is a wonderful, warm environment for Kindergarteners. We've felt positively about the school all year, and now even moreso in terms of how they are educating children amidst the very challenging situation of distance learning. As a parent, I now can see the teaching firsthand via the video lessons, and am thoroughly impressed with the quality and creativity of the teaching. The material is challenging, and I know some is comparable to what private schools are teaching a grade or two ahead. I encourage anyone who is struggling to send kids to the TUFSD because of the lower 'scores' it receives to really do research. Talk to parents in the district. Look at the data offered in GreatSchools and see how it breaks out in different ways before comparing the overall 'score' to other top performing Westchester schools. We are so happy we chose this district and even more so now that we see how wonderful the teachers are every day!Parent Review4y ago - Sleepy Hollow High School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI really feel like the teachers are rooting for my daughter. They let her learn at her own level. Also, it is a sweet place where kids are taught to be nice and considerate. There are strong community traditions--like when families bring in a dish for a pre-Thanksgiving holiday lunch. The dual-language program is outstanding and brings together different parts of the community.Parent Review5y ago - Washington Irving Interm School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMany of the teachers at this school are wonderful, hardworking and interesting, and try their best to engage a difficult age group. Counselors are excellent and work to address issues and help students in need.Sadly, the administration fails the students. The school does not have consistent policies regarding situations of bullying, nor ensures that all individuals hired to monitor hallways/lunch/recess are provided the proper training to assess and handle such situations. Children with problematic/harmful behavior are left unsupervised. Faculty are overwhelmed by behavioral problems and fail to receive proper support from a principal able to understand/address/manage challenges presented by this cohort. The school has many wonderful qualities, but its leadership is long overdue for an overhaul or a wake-up call.Parent Review11mo ago - Check out schools near 8 Windle Park.

"I love Tarrytown. The people are nice and the downtown area is rustic and very nice. My apartment is pretty well maintained and the rent fair. But finding homes to buy can be quite challenging. Not many new builds in this are that are affordable. And affordable I mean under a million dollars. "
