I have been pleased in almost every aspect of the education my grandaughter is recieving at GHS. However, I have found that too much emphasis is placed on athletics and virtually none on its music and dramatics. The sad fact is that the staff member responsible for student scheduling not only discourages these classes and activities, but does not hide their obvious scorn towards those kids who wish to join. It also is apparent that some of the GHS staff are unsupportive of the various choirs and deem them unneccessary. If your child has an interest in any of these activities, I strongly advise that a parent or guardian attend every scheduling meeting with them. There is also a problem with bullying. It is mainly verbal. If an accomplished athlete or child of a prominant citizen is the culprit, chances are that nothing will be done about it. Even with these two complaints, the benefits my grandaughter recieves outweigh the bad and I wouldn't want her in any other school.
