8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AveragePrincipal Becker has retaliated greatly against us after bringing real complaints against her work as a principal. A small group of current McNear mothers and PTA board members have protected her, and some have retaliated against my family and I despite the fact we left the school last summer. It feels very much like the mean girls run things at McNear right now. Multiple teachers and parents who have spoken up have either left the school or been pushed away. I hope they can make a change, it used to be a great school for everyone. We attended from 2017-2024 with our 3 daughters, and left after facing retaliation for speaking up for the teachers and children.Parent Review1y ago6 Reviews - Petaluma High School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI don't recommend this school to anyone. I had okay-ish grades, but the teachers were rude, and the students were bullies. I have been pushed, shoved, verbally abused, and jumped before at the school. I even told a staff member that I was being followed by a group of kids trying to jump me and they told me "Just go to class your fine." I have been down on the blacktop and witnessed a fight happen and after the staff member got them off each other he just walked away. This is so disappointing for me as a student to not feel safe in my own school. I will not be returning and will make sure to tell people about this experience that I will never forget. I had to change my number from all of the hate calls I was getting. I fear walking alone in petaluma because of the kids. The fact that when I told teachers and staff no one bothered to help is so sad.Student Review2y ago6 Reviews - Check out schools near 7th St.

"I work from home. But I drive my son to school and some times it takes 15 minutes and sometimes it takes 25 minutes, it can get congested downtown. There is also a small, 2 car train and a free bus that is available. "

"People sometimes let their dogs roam without a leash on and and this can be dangerous since most times the dogs are being territorial when you run into them. "

"I don’t commute. I work from home. So to meet the word requirement. I will say that my commute time is very short. Just enough for me to walk down the hall to my office."

"I moved from San Francisco. It’s great not having to worry if you locked the front door and there is a great movie theatre, many dog parks and lots of yoga studios. Check out Dillon beach!"

"It’s miserable. The traffic around town has tripled in the last few years. I don’t know how they think all the people in the houses they are building are going to get around but we can’t have any more cars on our roads; they just weren’t designed for this many people"

"It’s a bit pricey. Also, if you a looking to rent, and have a large dog over 25 lbs., it is doubly hard to fine anything other than an apartment. And open space is a premium in taking care of the dogs needs."
