Could not have asked for a better place for my kids to grow up at. Everyone from the teachers to the custodians are genuinely kind, care about the kids, and are enthusiastic about learning and growing. My kids came out of there so prepared for middle school.

I’m in high school now, but when I went here it was terrible. There was a lot of fights and bullying and I got bullied a lot. I read many reviews saying that the school doesn’t really do anything to help and I agree with that. I also agree that some teachers are bad and don’t care that much about bullying and fights. In 8th grade I got bullied a lot in my PE class and I told my teacher about it but they didn’t really do anything to help and that really upset me, like I get that bullying is normal and it happens but they should still do something to help. Some of the teachers were nice and helpful but many of them left and there’s new teachers now and they may not be as good I’m not sure. I haven’t been there in 3 years but it was bad back then when I went there but I think it’s worse now from what I’ve heard. Back in November 2023 I heard of a shooting threat and police had to come to the school twice in one week which is insane to me. I can’t even imagine how people were feeling during that time that their life could be in danger, and that’s not something you should ever have to go through. Safety is really not good at this school and the staff needs to do a better job at making sure people feel safe. I know middle schoolers can be immature and cause trouble and that’s normal and the teachers can’t entirely control that, but the staff needs to do better on helping kids and having more consequences, and listening to parents. I’ve heard students are being treated poorly especially the sped students and that’s horrible. If you or your kid is going into middle school next year, I do not recommend this school. It will most likely not benefit them. I recommend Adams middle school because it’s the best one in Brentwood it’s ranked #1 and the reviews are a lot better. I wish I would’ve went there instead.

Heritage is a good school when it comes to the choices of classes, the organization, certain programs like theater, etc. Most classes have decent teachers and a good set up. The front office is coordinated well and they are friendly. However, the school is very overcrowded and it can be hard to even walk to class without others stepping on your toes. If you want yourself (or your child) to feel as though they’re in a tight knit community and included everywhere: it may not be the school for you unless you are in involved multiple extra circulars. There are also 8 classes a day which makes it a little overwhelming and hard for the students to connect with others. I do like the patriot plus class because it allows for students to retake tests if needed or work on other assignments. Also, multiple people have experienced some of the teachers picking favorites and being unfriendly. There is also lots of physical fights on the school grounds involving students.
