5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe have two children at Altadena Arts Magnet currently and both are doing well. We appreciate the sense of community and support felt by teachers, staff, and the families we have come to know. The arts curriculum is strong and our kids love their classes in music, theater, arts, and dance. We are also in the French Immersion program which has given our child the confidence and community with his cohort that has helped him thrive.Parent Review1mo ago24 Reviews - Eliot Arts Magnet

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son just completed 6th grade and, as he is an artist, is learning so much from, not only his art and drama classes, but from the after school conservatory. He is taking two fine art/drawing classes, stop motion animation. As I have no artistic talent, he is getting much needed direction, support, and encouragement. In addition, he is getting strong core curriculum instruction. The conservatory, along with the Capturing Kids Heart program, have created a vibrant, kind, calm, and enriching environment for students to learn.A new principal was placed this year and has acclimated easily and taken the helm. I look forward to her increased attention on academics and insuring that students are being fully challenged academically as they are artistically.Parent Review1y ago25 Reviews - John Muir High School

"Events at the Altadena Libraries; readings, community activities, the friendliness of most neighbors, the fact that there are so many who are willing to help others, there are many who love and want to help animals, etc."

"Dog owners are definitely always welcome in the neighborhood. They wouldn’t like that if their dog or cat gets outside - especially during breeding time for bears, coyote, mountain lion, any carnivores - their pet may never be seen again or ever return."

"I work in a manner referred to as hybrid; I go into an office setting once or twice monthly. When I go into “the office”; the office alternates at a setting in the Arts district of downtown LA & downtown Pasadena. I experience a fairly stress-free commute."

"Just at an air B and B. Really nice area. Close to everything. Schools, restaurants, nail salon, and near the rose bowl. Over all very good neighborhood. I’d come and stay again in the futures. I don’t have much more to say because I’m just visiting. "

"Dog owners will be very pleased to live in this community. There are many pet lovers here. The only area of concern is there are wild animals living in the area; coyotes, bears, bobcats, skunk, opossum, rattlesnake and deer. Dogs and cats should never be left unmonitored in their yards, as they may be eaten or injured by coyotes at any time of the day."

"15 min drive to metro. Some busses around. Basically, you need a car, or like to walk or bike far to shop. The 134 is ever more congested because of big trucks, especially approaching 210 west from 134 westbound "

"We are a multi-ethnic community who live here out of the city chaos, but close enough to get into the city for work or cultural pursuits. We are supportive of each other. Kindred spirits on my block. Artists, professors, scientists, media people, animal lovers, gardeners, hikers who prefer maintaining a low profile and quiet simple and more authentic lifestyle raising children and enjoying grandchildren."
