For such a small town, I feel like CHS does there best with what little resources they have. The principal there is a great one and if your student ever needs a helping hand he is the first one to offer it

Kids are out of control. There are no real consequences for bad behavior and teachers are not allowed to discipline kids which creates an unsafe environment at times. Teachers are miserable and get zero support from administration.

My son is autistic and struggles with his behavior as part of his disorder. I transferred him to this elementry and it was a mistake. Before we transferred him, his previous school was engaging, made him feel welcomed, came up with strategies to encourage and redirect so he can focus and learn. They found solutions, they genuinely cared for my son. They viewed his as a child that is capable. He was so excited to go to school.When I transferred him to cameron, the shift was night and day. Even from my end. My son loves the bus and I called the school to get that organized. They informed me that I will have to call the bus bar and get that sorted. No problem it was strange but if that's how it works. When I called the lady was rude, I informed her of the accommodations needed and what grade he was in. When school started they had the wrong bus and the incorrect grade. No matter how many times I tried to correct it, it wouldnt change. So I ended up changing my shift to take him in the morning and fiance would pick him up from school.My son began to hate going to school, not wanting to get out of the car, and having a break down. The staff looked and treated him like he was a burden. They called me one day and stated their solution to encourage and hope for an easier transition.... was to just stare at him... literally. No redirectives, engagement, etc. But stand on the side walk, with no assist and stare. Which made it worse, its common knowledge the individuals with autism do not do well with direct eye contact! I was in disbelief!! My son was also in the middle of potty training so he would have accidents. I would get calls twice a week stating he had diarrhea.and I would need to pick him up. When I would pick him up he was having normal bms. It was so constant that I had to get a doctor's note so they would quit sending him. They were interrupting his education, with false information so they didn't have to "deal" with him..My son was difficult at this time... But seeing how we he grew and learned from one school and regressed at another... I think there's something to consider here.There was one Para who was amazing and absolutely loved him. I felt comfortable when she was there because I knew he would be taken care of. He was there for one year, then I transferred him back to his old school. Where he has been showing amazing progress since then. Literally moved cities due to the lack of compassion from this school.
