Description

This home is not on the market, yet. But it will be soon. Within a month or two.

Located in a mature, established neighborhood, there is no new building going on in the neighborhood. This quiet community has no sidewalks, yet people feel safe to stroll in the evenings. You can jog in the mornings and walk dogs or strollers with infants in the cool evenings, or even in the middle of the day. Very low crime, quiet calm neighborhood.

There is a Homeowners Association in the neighborhood. It is voluntary. VOLUNTARY! The association maintains a clubhouse that members can rent at reduced rates for parties and gatherings. The clubhouse has a free, lighted, fenced, off-street parking lot with room for about 20-30 cars (not an exact number). The building has power, lights, heat, air conditioning, two restrooms, folding tables and chairs (included in rental pricing) and a small kitchen or food preparation area. It’s a tiny treasure.

The HOA also maintains a small boat launch area. The area is kept locked, but you can purchase an annual key with your membership. You cannot store boats, trailers or vehicles at the boat launch. But it is VERY convenient, and inexpensive, for boaters in the neighborhood. There is no launching fee, just the annual purchase of a key to unlock the area. There is no fuel or electricity available, and the area is not manned. Owners are trusted not to share their keys with non-owners. It is a system that has worked for decades.

Feel like exercising? You can walk to Tick Neck Park and North East High School. It’s about a half mile away. While you’re there, you can play tennis in one of the 8 public tennis courts, stroll the walking path at the park, or throw a Frisbee for your dog at the dog field…I mean the soccer field. Just be a good citizen and clean up after. If you just want to stroll or jog from the front doorstep, a trip to Tick Neck Park – once around the walking path – and back is about 2 miles. And nearly all of it is on sidewalks or paved paths. Very safe, quiet and uncrowded. Of course if you want crowds, you can probably find a soccer or football game at the high school’s athletic complex in the summer and fall. There’s pretty good parking at the Park and High School, but you won’t need it if you want to walk a short distance.

On the subject of schools, High Point Elementary School is a short 3-minute drive, just 1 mile from your driveway. George Fox Middle School just one more mile in the same direction. You could leave your house in the morning and drop off young ones at the High School, the Elementary School and the Middle School…in about 15 minutes. Now that’s convenience.

Inside, the home has a combination of tiled and hardwood floors. Some bedrooms also have wall to wall carpet. All utilities are in the lower level and have been moved to a single, 25’x10’ room that also has storage shelves and a workbench. The electrical panel, water heater, freezer, washer and dryer, utility sink and furnace are all in this room. The rest of the lower level is finished and includes a large bedroom, a bathroom, a large kitchen or food preparation room and a family room. The family room has a large red brick fireplace with a beautiful custom wood mantel. The fireplace has a propane insert that is installed and operates with a simple remote control. The propane insert heats the room much better than a wood-burning fireplace. And it requires very little maintenance.

This property is off market, which means it's not currently listed for sale or rent on Trulia. This may be different from what's available on other websites or public sources.

"Lake shore is a good neighborhood, but there are no dog parks in the neighborhood. Also there is a lot of teenage kids roaming the neighborhood blasting inappropriate rap that has a lot of fowl language. I also don’t enjoy them shouting late at night when there are other people trying to sleep or relax, I walk around the neighborhood with my dog and smell drugs that these TEENAGE kids are smoking. Over all some parts of lake shore is good but not all"
  • anonymousmaryland
"I often see dog owners walking their dogs. Downs Park has a very nice clean public dog beach. However, Pasadena lacks a public dog park but that’s okay."
