8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs a teacher of 20 years I can only say that I’ve never in my life seen a school run so poorly after Mr. Sutton left. Fights, non certified “educators”, drugs, sexual promiscuity, and no accountability.Parent Review1y ago - Eugene Ashley High

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAfter a recent meeting at the school, I was very impressed with the teacher's reports regarding my student. The teacher's comments about my student were written in a positive way and focused on strengths and areas where he needs more support. My student was present at the meeting and he was treated with the utmost respect. They were complimentary and this was encouraging. My impression is that each teacher/staff member at the table was interested in hearing his voice and in his well-being. I felt completely welcomed and respected. Without mentioning names, there were a few comments indicating that some students in attendance in his classses are disruptive and/or disrespectful. It was also noted how much good behavior exhibited by my student was appreciated and I like that positive reinforcement. My student has reported to me that students are vaping at school, sometimes in the classroom! This does concern me greatly, and another student has also told me that this is a fairly common occurrence. I am not understanding how this happens on the regular, but I am not a teacher there, so I have no idea what they deal with. I only say that I have had someone vape in my office and I immediately became aware of it due to the smell. The only other negative comment I could make would be that I am not understanding why there are test days where some students are not being tested and they have to sit in the cafeteria all day. This seems very difficult and unhealthy and I wish that there could be some planned activities provided for the students or to allow the students not testing to have excused absences. Overall, I am satisfied with my experience with the school and my student is doing better and better, and for me that is the most important thing. NOTE: My student does not get very excited about his classes/learning, but did show a little this year.Parent Review1y ago - Edwin A. Anderson Elementary

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe have attended Anderson since 2013 and we loved this school! During this past year, 2016-2017, the school has a new principle.... and what a HUGE difference in the school overall! Not a GOOD difference! The parent/ teacher communication and fallen drastically and trying to speak with the principle... well that's just not going to happen. We've been told things like "You need to handle it with the teacher" and "I'm too busy." How do you handle issues with a teacher that doesn't communicate but 1-2 word responses to emails? Not to mention, one girl in my daughters class had been bullying several other stundents in the class. One student's mom is changing schools, another student desk was moved after days of leaving in tears and several other students leaving school upset. And not one thing has been done about this student. The third grade teachers seem super slack, after all, they have departmentalized so less work load for them, huh? My opinion is that third graders are NOT ready for this. Why have more change when they are starting testing during this crucial year. And the principle has a bad teenager-like attitude! Ask other parents! I have and my opinion does not stand alone!Parent Review7y ago - Check out schools near 7621 Huron Drive.
