"Many people walk their dogs here and there is a pretty good dog park. Not everyone is friendly however and many people will actively avoid you if they see you with a dog. This is the opposite of mendocino county where I made lots of close relationships with my neighbors from dog walking. I would not expect that here."
  • Bpnhmyj6cg
"I have lived within walking distance of downtown Novato for over 15 years. In the past five years, I feel the town seems to be making more of an effort to create events. There are a good variety of restaurants and grocery stores. It’s safe and there is great access to nature and hikes, particularly Indian Valley Campus is beautiful. My neighbors are kind and the area is dog friendly. I feel fairly safe, though I would not walk alone at night as a woman. There is some homelessness and I have been harassed before by people who are drunk or on drugs, but this is an issue in any city these days. It’s not frequent. That said, it’s very expensive to live here and it gets very hot! Make sure you have AC"
  • Viny Chu
"I see walking their dogs and smile. They love the fresh air. They have a beautiful view of the countryside. It’s clean and friendly."
  • Viny Chu
"This neighborhood is beautiful. The colors are so vibrant. I love the looks. It makes you feel happy."
  • Nick
"There are numerous dog parks across Novato. Even if you are walking your dog in your immediate neighborhood, the sidewalks and walking paths are pretty clean. Just about everyone is friendly and accepting of dogs on a leash. "
  • Gladys Castro
"My neighborhood is very safe. No loud cars no noisy people no fights and very accessible to parks , restaurants and and schools "

"The calmness and the relaxation and nature to walk or hike around makes Novato or Marin County very unique and special."
  • Bill O.
"Great walking areas; coast trails, biking, parks, art museum and convenient shopping nearby. Not far off major highway. Quiet, peaceful, community advocates for keeping areas in good condition. Some security walls are in need of repair but overall well cared for neighborhoods. "
  • Katharine B.
