6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school used to be amazing. Ever since the current principal started (in March of 2023), the entire school culture has changed for the negative. There are wonderful teachers at this school, but they are limited in regard to the support they can provide because of how this principal is running the school. He has no ability to use common sense when making decisions, does not take disabilities and developmental stages and behaviors into account when applying discipline practices, purpose isolates the parents from each other and operates under a cloud of secrecy and isolation when dealing with incidents.Last school year (2023-2024), he called the police on MULTIPLE kids 1st grade or younger for MINOR developmentally related incidents which resulted in the POLICE talking to our kids without our presence or consent. Most of these kids have disabilities such as Autism or ADHD and were mostly (if not all) Latino boys. When called out for this behavior by parents, he CALLED THE POLICE ON THE PARENTS!!! He is a machine for LAUSD and has no ability to think critically about any situation. The culture at this school has diminished greatly, the teachers look scared to share any concerns or opinions. They quite literally seem like they're being silenced. These teachers and staff are amazing, but cannot thrive under this leadership. I am now considering pulling my kids out of this school because of this principal, despite there being wonderful teachers, special education staff and school psychologist. His practices do not allow for a positive school environment. Under his "leadership", it's no wonder that this schools rating has dropped down to a 2.Parent Review1y ago11 Reviews - Verdugo Hills Senior High School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageGreat school! We like it better than CV. This school promotes education, has so many AP courses, and much more advanced in college readiness. Less fights and conflict than CV, less students too. Very safe school.Parent Review3y ago7 Reviews - Mt. Gleason Middle School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe have a student in the special education department here and I can't say enough great things about the support we have at Mt. Gleason! Everyone is so caring and kind and my son FINALLY has friends. The schoolwork is challenging but not insurmountable, and the curriculum is diverse and hands on. The entire staff has only ever been helpful and kind and I think this deserves a review here!Parent Review1y ago29 Reviews - Check out schools near 7517 Foothill Blvd.

"I live on Altura Ave and my neighbors are some of the best people I know. My neighbors older son goes to the same school as my oldest and he drives him to school. In the summer months our neighbor lets my kids use his pool to cool off."

"To hunger is a eclectic group of housing. I love how unique it is. People are friendly, they have dogs, they are commonly out walking. It is super quiet there’s lots of wildlife. He wake up to birds chirping, no helicopters, no sirens, it truly is getting out of the city. It is filled with beautiful trees and the only thing I wish we had was better roads and sidewalks. I would highly recommend Tujunga as an up-and-coming community that is near really good schools in La Crecenta that you can get your children into if you live in Tujunga.I think people try to downplay to hunger because they don’t want people finding this location. I have a lot of people that do deliveries and when they get here they say wow where is this place it’s really cool."

"Short by car less than 20 mins to and from work and from my kid’s school. Sometimes very traffic in the mornings since there is only one major freeway before the next major freeway 3 miles away. "

"Good enough area. Some hidden gems. Not the prettiest but it’s affordable for Los Angeles. Access to major freeways and about 20 minutes from downtown. "

"Sunland-Tujunga is tucked away off the 210 fwy. Unless you drive the 210 fwy you may not know it exists. Used to known as “Biker Town” due to all the choppers that would ride up and down Foothill Blvd on Sunday’s. I’ve lived here all my life - that’s 51 yrs."
