Description

75 Seagull Drive blends contemporary living and nautical charm to bring warmth and joy to all who enter. Huge volume ceilings and expansive glass in the formal areas provide abundant natural light for entertaining. The chef in you will love the large kitchen with plenty of preparation surfaces and abundant storage space. Sumptuous Berber carpeting transitions from a travertine tile entrance, and designer paint provides a warm ambiance and visual interest to architectural detail.

French doors open to the spacious master suite, complete with soaking tub. Down the hall, a second set of French doors leads to a private guest room or office, and to a third bedroom with dramatic sunset views. Curl up with your favorite book on the redwood deck under a trellis covered by Chinese wisteria. Like living in Cape Cod, the occupants and guests of 75 Seagull Drive enjoy coastal charm, spectacular views and refreshing Bay breezes.

Neighborhood Description

Richmond itself has gotten a bad rap over the years as being a crime capital. Most of the crime in Richmond itself is in North Richmond, up where the refineries are. Interestingly enough, the area of Richmond south of 580 is a completely different world; it's a quaint "small town" atmosphere and a great place to call home!

There are two main areas: Point Richmond and Marina Bay. Point Richmond is where all the history is; it has an older "downtown" area that was built in the early 1900's. But there is some new, too, and Toll Brothers is just finishing up a 250+ residential home development here. Marina Bay, where this home is, is a peninsula that used to surround one of the Kaiser Ship Yards. Kaiser was Richmond's biggest supplier of jobs when he was awarded the contract to build ships for World War II, but today we know him more from his non-profit (Kaiser Permanente) that he started because his mother had such trouble getting healthcare when he was young. The shipyard itself has been converted into a fantastic marina, and the peninsula itself is home to quite a few newer communities and residences. One of these communities is the Breakers, which is home to 75 Seagull Drive.

If you're looking for a home and you've never been to Point Richmond or Marina Bay, you should visit -- they are literally the best-kept secret in the Bay Area. Homes on the water have views that extend from the Oakland skyline, the entire Bay Bridge, to the San Francisco Skyline. Think Sausalito and Tiburon, but at one-third the price!

One of the best parts of this subdivision (the "Breakers") is its direct access to the Bay Trail. The Bay Trail is an ongoing project by the Bay Conservation and Development Commission to build over 400 miles of trails around the San Francisco and San Pablo Bays. The existing Bay Trail runs right by this subdivision, and residents can use the gate for direct access to and from the Bay!
