5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMaplemere is a great school. We love the diversity - kids from many cultural backgrounds and socioeconomic situations makes for a better experience with cultural sensitivity as well as building friendships with people who may not look like you or practice the same lifestyle as you. The staff is SO caring, and they work hard to make sure our kids get what they need to thrive. They are a Leader In Me school, and from the earliest grades are teaching the kids the 7 Habits (Be Proactive, Be a Problem solver, Think Win-win, etc) and how to apply them in their lives. This is carried on into the later grades as well. The special ed support is OUTSTANDING. We have experience with support at the elementary and middle school levels, and feel that our kids have gotten what support they need when they needed it. Many other parents I've spoken to feel a similar way to me. This is a wonderful community, and we are so glad we became a part of it!Parent Review2mo ago8 Reviews - Sweet Home Middle School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI do not recommend this school for those receiving special education in the general ed setting. If your child is not recommended for a self contained class, they are just dumped into gen general ed with no support. The administrators of the schools do not care about those with IEPsParent Review1y ago10 Reviews - Sweet Home Senior High School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI was a student here for all 4 years of high school. As a student moving from the nashville area to NY...it was a HUGE change for me. If you're not aware...NY state education is one of the best educations you could ask for your child. I joined the military during my junior year of high school. SH worked with me to allow me to forfeit walking across the stage so I could leave a week before graduation to go to my job training in the military. All the teachers and coaches; as a student athlete, were fantastic! The best coaches and teachers I could have asked for! The memories I made here will be with me forever. I am part of the alumni association. SH even created a wall of honor to honor all Veterans that joined the military; and asked us to come to the opening ceremony of the wall of honor. If you can think of an activity; SH had a club or after school activity for you! Now having kids of my own; I would appreciate everything from drill team for my daughter to chess club for my son. This schools has it all! Would definitely recommend.Other Review4mo ago6 Reviews - Check out schools near 75 Maple Rd.

"It is famous for safety, family life, and schooling. People are nice. Pretty walkable. I go out with family for trick and treating, and to the nearby park. I think there should be more parks and playgrounds. "

"There are a few parks near us, so it’s really nice to go on a run, walk our dog, have a picnic with friends or just take out the kids to play. There’s not necessary a lot of community events. "

"Good schools The nys troopers are the local police force and are present and accountable. I don’t have kids but I know some children in the school district from Kindergarten To HS. Their parents are pleased with the curriculum, the sports and the influence school has on their children."

"There are many families here however people have a blatant disrespect for speed limits and stop sides in neighborhoods "

"Certain main roadways do not have sidewalks which once kids become teens could lead to dangerous situations on bikes "

"People are kinda snooty but it’s safe. My dog (a pit) gets comments even when he’s the best behaved. Is what it is... still very dog friendly. Same goes when I let my kid ride his mini bike. Then again maybe it’s because I’m a biker... probably my fault. This neighborhood looks down on me. But the schools are great for my babies and it’s an amazing place to raise a family. Snooty people will be who they are... is what is. I know I talk uneducated but I do have 14 years of higher education 🤷🏻♂️. In all I’d definitely recommend this neighborhood to any family. "

"Have been visiting & looking at houses since Spring. The sidewalks do not extend throughout the entire development. Cookie cutter houses & several have clearly dated design with single steps up/down into rooms. The kids are cliquish and the schools are good but lack diversity & they teach completely to standardized tests. There is little to no instructional innovation in the middle and high schools as the curriculum is geared to passing the standardized tests & Regents Exam I am disappointed in the schools' lack of vision, innovation and social programs to include all students in student life"
