Being a current student, this school is exactly great. The teachers help with your grades and the students are well behaved and smart.

school cares more about our electronics and students not learning, fighting, and smoking in classrooms

CHS is a great school. I have a totally different background and was worried about bullies but I have been received with love and kindness. Excellence is celebrated regardless of where you come from. Teachers interact with us like their own children. I am a 9th grader and can say I absolutely enjoy school. My teachers are already discussing college courses with me.Future Aeronautical Engineer,Oluwadamilare.

I can say that at East Side I had experiences and opportunities that was only possible because of east Side like ECC program, where I graduated from High School with my Associates degree already

I just was awarded section 8. I was so excited. I wanted to move out of Newark. Then I received a letter from Malcolm Shabazz stating that my son was one of 6 students in Newark district schools that was awarded a scholarship to Lincoln Tech. All expenses paid. Malcolm Shabazz also informed us that not only will he be graduating next year with honors from there but also Lincoln Tech. They informed us upon graduating in would receive an additional scholarship for 85,000, to further his education. My son was and is so excited. So as for me moving out of Newark, not happening now. My son's dreams have to come first. Thank you Malcolm Shabazz for caring so much about my child and his future!

what can we do to make our schools better? It's up to us to make a difference with our schools and city. Stop complaining about what's so bad about it and make a change.

The education system in the building is very strong and positive. The staff and students welcome you with open arms and show u the right way to be in the building. West side is full of positive attitudes and positive people.

No recomendaría este colegio todos son groseros desde las secretarias asta las profesoras y su principal , mi hijo ah sufrido mucho acoso en este colegio y aparte sus profesora también le decía cosas que no son de un trato para un niño les pido encarecidamente a todos los papiros prestemos mucha atención a nuestros niño yo se que avemos muchos padres que trabajamos mucho para que a ellos no les falte nada y muchas veces ni les preguntamos como les fue pero nosotros somos los únicos que podemos protegerlos y crean les todo los que les digan y más si su hijo no quiere ir a ese colegio pide que por favor lo cambies este colegio me hizo entender que a nadie le importa la seguridad de tu hijo más que a ti
