About this House
PRICED FOR QUICK SALE! Fabulous old building built from thousand-year-old Redwoods & handcrafted together with square nails in 1880 -- a palace when it was first built. Later converted to a fourplex, and then a Triplex with an enormous upstairs flat. Many upgrades over the years, with the last three owners combined investing over $200,000 in the property -- including the addition of new sewer lines, earthquake retrofit, electrical panels, Etc. ...
Superb location sandwiched between two areas of aggressive revitalization (pictures of the neighborhood within a short walk are presented). Upstairs balcony in front overlooks new Cal State campus. Four blocks behind the building is the Ace Commuter Express train station to San Jose. Walk to Ballpark, Waterfront, stadium, main library, City Hall, two large shopping centers, and many restaurants. ...
Stockton overall, and this neighborhood in particular have recently dramatically improved. Scheduled rent is $2,900 a month (current rent 1950 with one apartment vacant & ready to rent for 950), but rental income could be increased with a few little changes. A minor conversion in the upstairs unit could effectively turn that one apartment into three units, and; there is a building in the back that might be converted into a little cottage... Who knows what you can do -- make a plan, and check with the city. Building is entirely up to code at this time. Collect fat rent while you decide upon the future of this property. ...
Solid building with lots of character. People visiting it tend to comment about Winchester Mystery House by the way the many rooms are laid out. You can add another touch by finishing a private cellar in apartment 2 -- set to be owners apartment, it has very expensive plush carpets with an old fashioned design that complements the building. Apartment 1 was colorfully decorated by an artist. If you like a building with character this one is quite wonderful.
Video shows quick walk-through while we were painting, fixing & cleaning to make it all ready to rent. Everything is done, and 2 apartments have been rented. Exterior maybe could use paint and thats it. Just collect the rent. ...
