5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school has been on a steady decline, getting worse every year. Every parent we interact with seems to all agree that the school is nothing special. None of the kids we have to our house seem to like the school. The office staff is rude to parents and the principal seems to be there just there for the paycheck since she never interacts with kids. We regret sending our son to TJ.Parent Review1y ago13 Reviews - Long Branch Elementary School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy child started first grade here this year. We did kindergarten elsewhere after moving into the area. As a parent I have not felt welcome and my child has struggled to make friends. His teacher seems overworked with a disproportionate focus on test scores and “achievement”. Homework is constantly pushed on us which, although I understand it comes from a place of concern, has been very stressful. And the moment our child met “the metric” he was dropped from being helped. Also the principle is only selectively friendly. I haven’t figured that out yet. But I don’t seem to be on the “list”The best part of the school is the before/after care program which is done in house. There the teachers are warm, friendly and welcoming. They really create a positive and inclusive experience. And it shows: this is the part of the day our child is most excited about. Thanks to those workers!Parent Review1y ago13 Reviews - Washington Liberty High School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daughter went to WL and then went on to UCLA, where they accepted the 50 college credits she earned through the AP and IB programs. This is an outstanding school. I don't know how great schools came up with a score of 5 out of 10.Parent Review2y ago11 Reviews - Check out schools near 736 N Oakland St.

"Ballston is a very lively place to be. Parks, good schools, large number of new restaurants opening up right now, but also pretty chaotic because the area is growing so much (my apartment building has been undergoing loud renovations since I moved in four years ago). I love being by the metro, living blocks from the library and parks, and generally having access to excellent community amenities. Lots of young people and young families"
