They have a great selection of teachers, their sports programs has really expanded and become very competitive.All 3 of our kids have gone to this school and we could not be more happy with their opportunities and experiences that this school has provided to them.Yes there are a LOT of kids that go to this school, but it is a very large school building - and really in a big school it is a fantastic way to prepare your kids of what is to come in college.Parent Review1y ago - San Marcos Middle School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daughter attended SMMS during the pandemic and parts of 6th and all of 8th grade. I was shocked at the 8th grade graduation seeing the majority of kids walking receiving honors and high GPAs considering how difficult the pandemic was learning from home. We received free computers and meals for home learning and free lunches all summer. It’s a big school so traffic is an issue but for the most part we’re all happy with our time there and look forward to my son attending next year! They have a lovely new principal and the school seems to be going in the right direction as far as I know. "There is the HOA meetings , where everyone sits around and argues about where to spend the money. We need new sewage plumbing system and pave to driveways, but the members decide to repaint the tennis court and buy new furniture for the poolside, very special."

"I have lived in San Marcos for just under 3 years. It’s a nice area and feels homie. It’s easy to get to San Diego or LA. The street are small and not built for a lot of traffic. But not the worst in so cal. "

"Going to and from work is fine. I do face traffic around 3:30 on the 78 frwy. San Marcos has a great climate as we aren’t too hot or too cold in any season. San Marcos is clean and beautiful. "
