Morgan was the first woman to be admitted to the architecture program at l'cole Nationale Suprieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris, and the first woman architect licensed in California. Morgan is best known for her work as the architect of Hearst Castle in San Simeon, California. The home is on the National Registry of Historic Homes in California. The Wilson House floor plan is considered a butterfly layout with equally balanced right and left wings. The impressive entry leads to an grand stairway with an orchestra landing. The public rooms are adorned with beautiful Arts & Crafts finishes. There are three fireplaces faced with handcrafted tiles designed by the Grueby Faience Company, magnificent millwork, quarter sawn oak panelling and oak parkay wood floors throughout, plus stained glass ornamental windows and bevelled glass accents. This 5 bedroom home features a huge master suite with attached bathroom that passes through to the private library and a private terrace with a view of the bay. Bathrooms with vintage touches in keeping with the style of the home. The layout of the house is well-designed for entertaining indoors and out, and features two covered patio decks and two uncovered terraces, along with a sitting room, formal dining room and large formal living room with french doors to the rear deck area. The location at the top of the Heritage District allows wonderful views from Mare Island across to the hills in the East. The property is covered by the Mills Act, giving it a property tax assessment far below the purchase price. The detail of this fine example of Julia Morgans work must be seen to be appreciated - a true California treasure.

My only issue with this area is there are quite a few drug dealers and users that will harass you if you take your dog to said field. Really the next option is going to Curtola (5 minute drive, 30 minute walk). So, hopefully you have a car so you can find a dog park that is a 20 minute drive away. "

You call the city, it takes three months to get the camp cleaned up then two weeks later, it’s back in full swing. The potholes on my street messed up my alignment in my car. They keep getting bigger and bigger. The school down the street is full of trash from the students and I’ve found discarded drug paraphernalia such as needles, drug baggies, and crack pipes. "
