This school does not handle truancy. Instead, they talked me into transferring to an alternative school. Truancy happened again and George Washington said he couldn't come back. DPS gave me no options for schooling. My son was 15. I sent him to live with his noncustodial dad and that blew up in my face. They lost their home and ended up on the street. My son refuses to come home and wants to live in a youth shelter. DPS did this. They didn't allow him to attend anywhere nor correct the truancy. Nobody has listened to me or care. I contacted so many ppl in DPS with zero answers over the course of an entire year while working a full-time job and raising another child. DPS is the root of all evil and they DO NOT have decreased enrollment, they are KICKING them out! Can someone look into this?????

hill isnt the best school you can send your student to..... its not a safe learning enviornment and its very hard to get knowlege there. please explore other options!!!!

Lowry Elementary has been amazing for my child. The teachers are unbelievably caring and genuinely want to be there. Many of them have years of experience and are leaders in their craft. Students have a tremendous amount of social-emotional support, including a psychologist, counselor, and social worker, as well as a Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports system; Liberty, the facility dog, was acquired through donations, fundraising, and grants as an additional social-emotional support for the school community (no school funds were used for Liberty). The Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is engaged in creating a strong sense of community and hosts many free events in order to make the events accessible. The PTO supports student activities and programming, community events, staff appreciation, and funding staff positions when necessary.Since Dr. Larkin's arrival as principal, the school climate is positive, caring, and safe--a great place to send your child!
