6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOverall, I'm very happy with this school. Solid 4 stars, nearly 5 (there's always room for improvement). Two things to note right away about this school:1) It is a neighborhood school. Nearly all of the students live withing walking distance of the school. I think it's serviced by only 3 buses, which is very few compared to other schools this size. This is reflected in how the school feels and is run: it feels like a neighborhood.2) Most of the school participates in the district's highly regarded 'dual language program,' which is an immersive Spanish/English language immersion program that runs through all of elementary school. This is the primary reason we wanted to attend this school and wow is it worth going in to.When crafting lessons and curricula, there is often cultural learning of Spanish speaking countries woven in to the lessons. This helps keep the children and the teachers engaged and excited about what they are learning. I do wish that there was more STEM, art, and music available, but it is elementary school and curricula are pretty packed as it is. The school day would have to be 12 hours long. I also wish there were more opportunities for accelerated learning, but the teachers try to challenge students who are ahead as they can.Teachers are engaged and engaging. We're in constant communication with our childrens' teachers and they are responsive and available at all times. We volunteer with the school often and have had fantastic experiences doing so.For social-emotional support, again, this is woven in to the curriculum but there is also very helpful staff available to assist with interventions as necessary. We've had first hand experience with this and other accommodations for one of our children and the school has been open and forthcoming about providing assistance when appropriate.I also feel that the school is imminently safe. The district has a very well thought out and comprehensive safety strategy in place overall, but having a neighborhood school where everyone knows everyone else makes me feel like my children are safer and more secure even with those practices in place.Overall, especially for a suburban school where I was expecting my kids to go through what I did (homogeneous, unchallenging, mono cultural) I'm happy and surprised at the positive experience my children are receiving at Golfview.Parent Review6mo ago - Dundee-Crown High School

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageGreat school sometimes it gets over crowded but the teachers are great and kind the only problem here is hard to open our lockers because they are number combinations it's confusing to open but the teachers are always on the hallway to help us out over all I'll give this school 4/5Parent Review1y ago - Lakewood School

"I just moved to Carpentersville about six months ago but I have been living with my family for the past 16 years in the next town over, which is Algonquin. Both towns feed into the same high school and we had a great experience here. Carpentersville used to be a run down place of low income families from what I’ve heard but it has come along way and we really like it."
