Northern Highlands provides an very unique public school dynamic as freshman arrive from 4+ different towns; mainly Allendale, Ho-Ho-Kus, Upper Saddle River, and Saddle River. This allows freshman to have an experience of meeting all new friends, teammates, and classmates early on in their lives and helps them prepare for college and their eventual professional years. Furthermore, that this is a public school also allows many to experience the diversity and quality of education that many private and parochial schools in the area also enjoy. At NH, I found that the curriculum was broad and offered plenty of options as well as levels, i.e. regular, CP, Honors, AP allowing students to challenge themselves. Athletics are certainly a selling point for the school as well, although it is notable that female athletics are far superior to males relative to their competition. All in all, I founds that NHRHS was a tremendous high school and I would recommend it, its faculty, curriculum, and programs to any parents or child looking for a challenge.

This school is outstanding. The children in our beautiful town are lucky to receive an education from dedicated teachers in a small friendly community. Safety and education a top priority for our town. I have had multiple students enrolled in this school. Each one received outstanding remarks when applying to private middle schools and high schools. I owe it all to the fantastic education received at Wandell. We are lucky to have this school in our amazing town!!!!!

Our two sons went to Brookside. One is highly dyslexic and received wonderful support. Mrs. Fox 'saved his life'. The second son was your average good kid, good student. I found these kids in the middle received much less attention and support - too much so. Still good program that has set them up well for high school and university.
