About this House

About Us:

My girlfriend of 6 years and I own a 2,840 sq ft house on .6 acres in the peaceful Woodside Hills Subdivision. The house is equipped with a 577 square foot, one bedroom, one bathroom fully equipped and recently fully remodeled lower level guest suite. Our home was not damaged by hurricane Helene.

We have been in Asheville for 11 years and moved from Virginia and Chicago. We are in our mid/late 40's and both work full time jobs. We have 3 small dogs, a French bulldog named Bubba, 2 dachshunds named Cooper and Oliver, and a cat named Luna. We love animals, enjoy vegetable gardening and hiking.

About You:

We are interested in meeting and interviewing prospective tenants to find the best fit for all parties involved. We are seeking a tenant who is honest, financially stable, responsible, respectful and a reliable person. We prefer no pets but would consider a small dog or cat with an additional pet fee and deposit.

About our Guest Suite Apartment:

The guest suite is situated on the lower level and is 577 square feet with 8.5 foot ceilings and is equipped with its own living/dining room, bedroom, kitchen with 1 year old: cabinets and granite countertop, full size refrigerator, oven, dishwasher, garage disposal, microwave, custom pantry with black oak live edge shelves, bathroom with a vessel sink bowl, custom tile shower and a full size washer/dryer tower. There are pot lights and there is crown molding, a large new master Allen and Roth closet system in the bedroom and plenty of storage in the utility closets located in the bedroom. The area is updated with 1 year old smartcore vinyl plank flooring.

This apartment will provide you privacy and security with your own entrance with a screen door, own patio, mature landscaping, lovely gardens, a shared fenced in backyard, and outside dusk to dawn motion activated door light fixture and flood lights. In addition there is a small hiking trail that starts in the upper back yard. There is also a private park along a creek that is 1/4 mile away. The park has a walking path, pavilion with a grille and picnic tables, horseshoes, baseball diamond, volley ball net and golf tee which the tenant will have access to. The Woodside Hills subdivision we live in is a dedicated bird sanctuary and we have a wide variety of birds who visit our home.

Additional Details: We are seeking 1 to 2 tenants max for this area.

There is 1 dedicated parking spot in the driveway for the tenant and plenty of on street parking in front of the house.

The guest suite will be available for move-in Wednesday, January 15th.

Location:

We are located in the City of Asheville but our street address is Candler. Our home is located off of exit 44 (W Asheville/Enka-Candler exit) from I-40.

We are approximately 2.5 miles from the I-40 exit and are 15 minutes from downtown Asheville, 10 minutes from West Asheville, 10 minutes from the Asheville Outlet Mall, 15 minutes from UNC Asheville, 1 mile from the Ingles, 1 mile to the AB Tech-Enka Campus and a 1/4 mile from Enka middle school.

Contact us:

We are doing showings starting Wednesday January the 1st and ending Saturday the 11th. The showings will be available Monday-Friday at: 12:30pm, 4:30pm and 5:30pm. Saturday and Sunday showings are at 11am, 12pm and 1pm.

Please text or call Kevin to reserve your showing time as they will be available on a first come, first serve basis. We plan do apartment showings first, then we will setup 2nd interviews and then make a final tenant decision by Wednesday, January 15th, which will be the soonest the apartment will be available for rent.

Rent and Bills:

The rent will be $1,500/month for a one year lease, $1,600/month for a 6 month lease and $1,700/month for a 3 month lease and $1,800 for month to month (for 2 tenants add $300 per month). All leases include ALL utilities (Charter Wifi, Water, Sewage and Garbage/Recycling and Lawn Care) except for the power bill. The deposit is one month's rent and $50 is required for a background check. The first month's rent and deposit will be due at move-in. We will pro-rate your rent for the first month if you do not move in at the beginning of the month.

Given the lower level is only 25% of the total square footage of the house, we will ask the tenant to cover 25% of the power bill. We have averaged out the power bill and 25% will be $85/month which will be due each month included with the rent.
