9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWith the exception of a handful of teachers who see students for who they are and their potential -- the teachers and administration have an astonishing lack of empathy, it's almost as if they are setting students up to fail that it sucks any curiosity and desire to learn out of their spirits. The teachers routinely behave in ways that would trigger HR complaints in a normal professional environment, penalizing them for absences and changing testing dates out of spite, giving students less time and resources to prepare. "IB for All" is a slogan they fall embarrassingly short of meeting -- their program is only for the few percent of students at the high functioning, academically driven end of the population, and all others are left to fail.Parent Review2mo ago265 Reviews - Jhs 104 Simon Baruch

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI DONT RECOMMEND THIS SCHOOL, THE ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL HAVES FAVORITISM TOWARDS KIDS THAT DONT HAVE IEP, THE STAFF CALLS ALL THE TIME FOR THINGS THAT NOT AN EMERGENCY, INSTEAD OF IMPORTANT THINGS THAT ALWAYS LAST MINUTE. THE TEACHERS RESPOND LATE, THE TEACHERS DONT HELP THE STUDENTS THEY PREFER ANOTHER STUDENT TO HELP INSTEAD, WHEN KIDS BULLY OTHER KIDS THEY DONT HOLD THEM ACCOUNTABLE, THE AMOUNT OF FAVORITISM IN THIS SCHOOL IS HUGE AND THE STAFF ARE ALL UNPROFESSIONAL. IF YOUR CHILD HAVES An IEP DONT BRING YOUR CHILD HERE, HE/SHE WON'T GET THE RIGHT EDUCATION.Parent Review2mo ago36 Reviews - Sixth Avenue Elementary School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageVery happy with the school. The principal added some very good specialist teachers this year. We were worried because the long time music teacher left, but the teacher has been really good. My kids absolutely LOVE the new art teacher Savannah. She has a background in the fine arts, which really makes such a difference. It's such a blessing that the school can afford and provide both music AND art instruction to all students.Parent Review1y ago4 Reviews - Check out schools near 7 E 13th St #4E.

"I use the NYC Subway. There are three different stations within a few blocks of me, add walking a couple of extra blocks adds three more. I can get to anywhere the subway system goes quickly and easily. "

"The neighborhood is changed a lot over the centuries, and in the last 10 years has been highly gentrified, but maintains some of its unique character and as much cleaner and safer than it used to be"

"Very busy subway hub. Pretty reliable. You can get anywhere in the city from here. The subways in NYC feel increasingly less safe."

"There are many families here with multiple daycare and school options. There are great open green spaces and parks as well. The only caution is the growing number of homeless New Yorkers coming to the Village begging for money."

"Street fairs, block associations, Halloween. Convenient to transportation, stores, friendly neighbors, pars, gardens, cultural events. Older people along with younger people. Lots of restaurants, clubs, theater. Historic district with so many landmarks. Ac cultural and human mis that is the best the city has to offer. Wish us old folks, long timers, got more respect and a break from time to time."
