Chabot has been more than a wonderful school, but grown to be our community. The teachers and principal are some of the most dedicated educators in the Bay Area. The focus they give not just in academics, but building strong social/emotional learning is second to none. After three years with the school we are already dreading the time when our kiddo will graduate and we will move on from the Chabot family.

We have been pleased with our experience at Claremont - there are a few teachers that I have encountered are not well-liked by parents or students, but for the majority of the staff are hardworking and wonderful with our students.Special Ed parents need to be strong advocates, especially if their child is high-functioning.

Both my sons attended Tech, and have enjoyed it. My oldest son is now getting ready to transfer to UC next fall and my younger son is currently a junior and enrolled in AP classes that are as challenging as any college class I’ve seen. I feel the curriculum has prepared both boys well for college. They’ve experienced no bullying, and have made great friends here and they’ve generally liked their teachers. Overall we’ve been happy with our kids attending Oakland Tech!

Thornhill Elementary has been a safe haven for my child and our family. We have been very pleased with the teachers and other administrators including the principal. Our child is neurodivergent and he has found his "people" and we have also felt truly supported during our time at Thornhill. Of course, things can always be better, it is an Oakland public school, but we are so happy to be a part of the Thornhill community as it continues to strive to be better.
