I accepted my offer for PS144 after reading all good reviews. Unfortunately, our experience wasn’t the best. I was tired from poor communication from admin staff, principal with I don’t care attitude. The teacher who decided that little kids don’t need any form of rewards, ignoring emails, lying all responsibility on parents when it comes to explaining the concepts etc.We moved our kid to another school and can’t be happier.

My son constantly gets bullied, he witnesses fights, he’s been physically bullied, he HATES going to school I can’t even get him the same kind of help he had in his other schools. He’s afraid to get yelled at by his teacher, his confidence is low because of the way he gets treated. I shouldn’t have to fight to get him to go to school in the morning some days it literally makes him sick at times. The kids still use their cell phones during school hours as well.

As a parent we all want whats best for our kids to give them the opportunity to succeed in life. If you want that for your child this is the school to be in. My son who is disabled will be graduating this year. He has thrived and learned so much academically and emotionally. The staff has been hands on always keeping lines of communication open to best support him and give him everything he needs to succeed. He will miss this place even knowing that better things are yet to come. Every High School should model after this one especially for children with disabilities. This is the school to be in if you want caring staff and students who will thrive more and more each year they are here. I thank you for a amazing 3 years and counting.
